Summary

A Murder at the End of the World’s finale is a massive letdown. After a long wait for the big reveal, it ended up being lackluster. What a waste of a finale.

The ending of A Murder at the End of the World has many questions to answer: Will Darby finally figure out who murdered Bill? Does Andy reveal the root of everything that he has done? These are the key dramatic questions driving Episode 7, however, after such a wait for the big reveal and payoff, it’s hard not to feel incredibly disappointed by this finale.

Andy brings everyone to his underground bunker, where he reveals that he isn’t letting anyone go until someone tells him who has been setting him up for the murders.

Who attacked Darby?

Amid all the chaos, Andy is very upset and starts to reveal things he has seen on the cameras at the resort. While picking apart who might be setting him up one by one, he confronts David and throws gloves on the floor at him. Andy announces that David is who attacked Darby with a knife, but David suggests he only did it to keep her off Lee’s trail.

Who is the biological father of Zoomer?

As his rampage continues, Andy keeps pounding through accusations and announces that Bill Farrah is the biological father of Zoomer. This leads to Andy calling out Lee and how she had a list of cybercrimes on her record when they met, and he wiped her slate clean.

Zoomer comes downstairs to talk to his mom and dad. However, Andy attempts to push him away and make him go upstairs, but before he can go, Darby confronts him to talk about Bill and some of the stuff he knows.

Who killed Bill and Rohan?

Zoomer tells Darby that the AI assistant Ray had guided him to give Bill a shot that ended up killing him. Ray also gave him the directions to help Rohan with his heart monitor, which ended up killing him, too. So Zoomer is the one who killed both Bill and Rohan.

We now know that Zoomer killed Bill and Rohan due to being directed by the AI assistant, Ray. But we don’t know why, and this is where Darby begins to unpack everything. Darby says that the relationship between Andy and his therapist (also Ray) revealed his frustrations and concerns with certain people, leading Ray to think Bill and Rohan were threats to the company. So he took matters into his own hands.

Why did Ray kill Bill and Rohan?

Ray ended up killing Bill because he was Zoomer’s biological father. On top of that, Rohan was ready to help Lee and Zoomer escape from Andy. Both of these things were threats to Ronson Industries and Andy, leading to him killing both men.

How does A Murder at the End of the World Season 1 end?

Darby and Lee head down to the control system where Ray is and destroy him. The pair and Zoomer watch as the system is slowly destroyed in front of their eyes. The season ends with us seeing Darby reading her latest book, Retreat, in front of a crowded room, saying, “People will remember his name, Bill Farrah.”
