Summary

Letterkenny sees our favorite Canadians get a perfect send-off with one of the best seasons of the show in years.

One of the longest-running shows in Hulu history, Letterkenny has returned for its 12th and final season. The series that follows our favorite Canadians in the small town of Ontario has been making us laugh since 2018. The last season revolves around the crew dealing with new things, including comedy night and country music. Fittingly, Season 12 is one of the show’s best in years, providing a fitting send-off for the comedy.

Letterkenny Season 12 review and plot summary

Letterkenny Season 12 sees the small town of Ontario deal with a comedy night, a country music hit, and a brand new nightclub being introduced to the city.

When watching Letterkenny, you know that most of the stories are set to the tone of that particular episode, with some of the pieces falling over into other installments. Because of this, the show has always been an easy binge. You have six twenty-five-minute episodes that you can sit and breeze through.

Throughout Season 12, we are exploring some of the typical themes we are used to. That said, like they do every season, we have some well-crafted one-liners that are sure to have you belly-laughing. Between the hilarious stand-up comedy episode and the “Sun Darts” song, you fit right into the world that creator Jared Keeso built.

Keeso knew he would have to explore some fun things for Letterkenny to end its run with a bang. What do we want from Keeson and his crew of misfits? Over-the-top, R-rated, raunchy comedy that we don’t get much on TV anymore, and that’s precisely what we get.

After a couple of rocky seasons that saw audiences not enjoying the path that Letterkenny was heading down, it bounced back with a much stronger Season 11, which I loved quite a bit. It will be interesting to see how audiences react to how Keeso wraps the season up for some of his characters. I loved what he did with the principal characters in this season.

I credit this show so much for never shying away from telling jokes that might “hurt” people’s feelings, and there is even a moment in Episode 1 where they tackle that with the stand-up bit. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it — it’s as simple as that.

Is Letterkenny Season 12 worth watching?

If you have enjoyed the eleven previous seasons of Letterkenny, you will not be disappointed in the show’s final season. Honestly, the only thing that upset me about the last episode was knowing that we weren’t getting any more Letterkenny in the future. Here’s to hoping that Keeso explores more themes as he did with his spin-off Shoresy

On paper, I would put Season 12 against any of the last five or six seasons of Letterkenny. Much of this, I am sure, has to do with Keeso knowing this was the end. Hope in the car, buckle up, and enjoy one final ride with our crew in Ontario.
