Detective Forst is already shaping up to be a sleeper hit for Netflix, and while Season 2 of the Polish crime thriller hasn’t been officially confirmed, there’s a good chance that will change soon. Based on the best-selling novels by Remigiusz Mróz, there is no shortage of source material to be adapted, and the cliffhanger ending has fans eager for news.
Has Netflix renewed Detective Forst for Season 2?

At the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation from Netflix about another series of the show, however, we believe that there may be more to come from Forst in the future. The book series that the show was based on has six novels written by Polish author Remigiusz Mróz so there is a lot of material available if a second series is announced.
Mroz could be regarded as one of the country’s most prolific writers and has a huge fan base, so there will be a pre-sold public for this adaptation, and if the numbers are good, there is no reason for Netflix not to move forward with another run.
What could Detective Forst Season 2 be about?
With six novels based on the character, we believe that another of the books could be adapted for a second season of the show. Forst’s character has much scope to be developed too, and there is no doubt that further series would explore the detective and his personal and professional career. The first two books in the series were used for the first season of the show, so there are still four others waiting to be looked at.
This will be good news for viewers who enjoyed Season 1 but found the ending unsatisfying since it left Forst as the prime suspect in the case he had been investigating and raised some very interesting questions about his fellow lead and love interest, Olga, who was last seen driving the real killer away from the scene.
The questions will be about how well the series performs on Netflix. Early signs are very positive, though.
Who plays Detective Forst?
Borys Szyc plays the titular detective, Wiktor Forst, on the hunt to find a serial killer called the Beast of Giewont.
Borys has had a very long career and appeared in numerous Polish productions. Some that you may like include Into the Night, Operation Nation, Cold War, and World on Fire.
How many episodes are there?
There are six episodes in the first season of Detective Forst, and they have an average runtime of around 42 minutes.
