How did Life and Beth Season 1 end?
The first season of the show ended after ten episodes, and we saw Beth deciding to put her relationship with John, played by Michael Cera, on hold. Beth decides to try to live in her own life, rather than as a passive character in somebody else’s.

What is Life & Beth Season 2 about?

As Beth and John’s relationship grows more serious, Beth begins to examine the possibilities of marriage and having a family as she and John seek answers for their communication problems. Is Beth’s traumatic history with men, and people she trusted from her youth destined to repeat itself? And what is triggering her fears? Beth does her best to keep her relationships alive while struggling to support friends and family who are all facing their own problems while entering their fourth decade.
The show is set to follow up on the relationship between the two leads, and Violet Young is on the cast list, indicating that there will be more flashbacks that will reveal more about the younger version of Beth.
Is Life & Beth based on a true story?
Although much of the show was written and created by Amy Schumer, who also plays the titular Beth, the series is not as autobiographical as some may think. Although there are instances that Schumer has stated came from her own experiences, she freely admits that she has “taken liberties” with many of the characters and situations that occur in the show.
In an article on USA Today, Schumer would reveal that she wrote the series while pregnant with her son Gene, and browsing through old journals that she had written. She recalled, “I’d really like to examine that time in my life, the teenage years when these big moments happen for you that can traumatize you or change you, and how that affects you as long as you let it.” This was the springboard for the series, and although it is not a true story, there are moments within the show that personally resonate with the performer.
As an aside, Beth is Amy’s middle name in real life.
