Baby Bandito is a thrilling Chilean series inspired by a true story, and its cliffhanger ending leaves things open for Season 2. However, there don’t seem to be any plans at Netflix for more of the show, at least not at the time of writing. With the characters who survived having learned harsh lessons, the heist drama’s underlying point has been firmly made.

Has Baby Bandito been renewed for Season 2 by Netflix?
Unfortunately, there is nothing to indicate that a second season of Baby Bandito has been green-lit. However, with the show dropping on January 31st, 2024, it is still early for a renewal notice to surface, so don’t write this one off just now — it just means that Netflix is still looking at the data to see how well the show has done.
Since the series was based on real-life events, that may indicate that the show may have told the story that it wanted to tell. With shows based on truth, once the narrative has run its course, there is often no reason to produce more. However, Baby Bandito does openly play fast and loose with the source material, using it as a basis for an original story.
How have critics and audiences reacted so far?
Often, the reaction from critics, and more importantly audiences, can contribute to the continuation of a series. Although it’s early days, there are a few reactions from around the world that might indicate the success of the show, and its chances for renewal.
Currently, on IMDb the show has a respectable 7.5/10, but that will change very soon. Flickonclick was on board completely, saying Baby Bandito “is a must-watch web series that delivers thrills, romance, and excitement in equal measure.” Brightshub also enjoyed the series and says the show is “a thrilling roller coaster ride”.
Heaven of Horror called the series “fast-paced and fun”. In our Baby Bandito review, we were mixed, saying that despite having a somewhat unique approach to the heist genre it was structurally a mess.
Who produces the series?
The production company behind the series is Fabula, and they are no strangers to this kind of production, with an incredible portfolio of shows and films in their back catalog. On the official website for the company, they state,
