Summary

Life & Beth spent all season building to this moment and stuck the landing in such a sweet and harmonious ending.

A baby is on the way in the Season 2 finale of Life & Beth. John and Beth have been struggling for weeks because she does not feel safe, while he feels unheard about his worries. The duo agrees to head upstate to one of her bosses’ houses to stay until the baby is born, which gives the ending of Season 2 a nice focal point in the form of Beth’s impending labor. Episode 10 sticks the landing.

Beth and John are still staying in the upstate house, where we see Beth meeting her Birth Doula for the first time. When Beth asks who can be in the room when the baby is born, the Birth Doula tells her that only she and her husband can typically be in the room. Beth brings up the idea of her sister being in the room but says they aren’t talking right now.

Why does Beth want to leave the upstate house?

After meeting with Birth Doula, Beth starts to wonder if she is made to have the baby naturally. The entire thing freaks her out, leading to her telling John that she wants to go back home and have a C-section along with real doctors.

Upon returning home, the house is complete, and Beth is elated by the work John has done with it. Her dad comes to visit her to see the house and her. He talks up how great the house looked and how beautiful she looks all pregnant. Then, we see John meeting, who gives him a picture of the house of him and his mother when he was a baby.

It’s Jen’s surprise birthday party, but Jen walks in and thinks everyone is there for an intervention. She begins to snap at specific people, saying very mean things until her husband walks in, singing Happy Birthday. The entire thing gets weird to the point where Jen does ask Lavar for the number he said he had to possibly seek help.

Is Ann by Beth’s side during her giving birth?

Beth is heading to the hospital to have a baby, but before she goes, she stops by her sister Ann’s house to see if she will go with her. At first, she says no, but as she walks to the door, she says she is going to come with her.

How does Life & Beth Season 2 end?

We see Beth head into the doctor’s room, where she is about to give her a shot to numb her ahead of birth. As that happens, Ann and John share some small talk, leading to the duo meditating together before they head into the room with Beth.

Beth’s nerves begin to get the best of her, and she starts to worry that something wrong is about to happen. We get a montage of the highs and lows of Beth and John’s relationship and her childhood. Finally, the doctors get her settled, and she gives birth to a baby boy.
