Summary

This exciting episode perfectly prepares viewers for the intense battle to come while still being thrilling and suspenseful.

Now that the Undine has been defeated, Laios’ party can finally continue their journey to rescue Falun in Episode 10 of Delicious in Dungeon. With only so much time left, they’ll have to hurry if they want to make it before she winds up digested. The problem is that they still don’t know where to find the Red Dragon. At this point viewers of Season 1 haven’t met Takin outside of flashbacks, and they’d presumably like to.

The episode opens with Laios’ party approaching the fifth floor. They encounter a hall of tentacle monsters but decide it is easier to push through than to find an alternative route. Suddenly, Laios’ new sword, Kensuke, is taken by a frog monster and dropped into a deep hole as the others attack.

As a group of frogs attack the party, Chilchuck notices the tentacles do not affect them and wonders if he can use this idea to his advantage.

How does Chilchuck avoid being stung by the tentacles?

To avoid being stung by the tentacles, Chilchucks wraps his hands in gloves made of frog skin when he realizes they are immune to the tentacles’ poison. These gloves allow him to make contact with the tentacles without being harmed.

Laios sets out to make full frog skin suits, while Senshi sets out to make food out of the tentacles. They use the suits to reach the fifth floor without getting stung.

On the surface, Mr. Tansu reports new dungeon happenings to the board, including the Orcs’ migration and new camps around the upper floors of the Dungeon. He then hands over drawings of magic circles that he is sure were made by the Mad Mage. In return, Mr. Tansu learns the Elves have recently been demanding claim over the Dungeon back.

Laios’ party explores the Orc settlement, finding it in shambles. This leads them to discover a group of Wargs they conclude were freshly burnt to death by the Red Dragon. They realize the Dragon isn’t asleep like they expected, but active.

Realizing that fighting an active dragon will be tougher, the party tries to devise a plan that matches their strengths. They realize it may be easier to distract and trap the Dragon than to take it on directly from the start.

How does Delicious in Dungeon Season 1 Episode 10 end?

With their plan worked out, Senshi makes the group a final pre-battle meal using some things from the Orc Village. As they eat, Laios offers his sincere thanks to the group.

Suddenly, they hear the Red Dragon walking through the Orc Village and are forced to head into action.

While it was clear this episode was meant to set up the big Dragon fight viewers have been waiting for, it still managed to hold its own and add some interesting new lore to the overall world of Delicious in Dungeon.

Now that we’ve met more parties, seeing the Dungeon and its politics through their eyes has shown there’s a lot more going on here than just adventuring, fighting monsters, and collecting treasure, and that feels very promising in terms of potential.

With the first major fight likely occurring in the next episode, viewers will finally see if all of the party’s preparation paid off or if they’ve been doomed from the start.
