Invincible Season 2 Episode 6 will likely pick straight up from where Episode 5 leaves off. Invincible and the other heroes are already in a battered and bruised state, and it’s only been one episode. Due to Shapesmith’s negligence, the Sequids have managed to get hold of a human host to orchestrate their takeover, and now because Atom Eve is in a vulnerable state, she’s likely next on their list of people to control. This will make them even more difficult to fight, not just because Eve is strong, but also because she’s a close friend to Invincible, and he won’t want to hurt her.
Things aren’t much better on Earth. Dupli-Kate has been smashed and Shrinking Rae is currently making her way through the digestive system of a Lizard League goon. Rex Splode is only just alive, but even if he manages to get out of his predicament, he’ll be very injured and Cecil will have to find new members for the Guardians of the Globe. Earth has perhaps never been in a more perilous position.
Will Rex Splode survive his fight with King Lizard?
In Episode 6 of Invincible Season 2, Rex Splode will have to find a way to get out of a pretty sticky situation. When audiences last saw him, he went to fight the Lizard League with Shrinking Rae and Dupli-Kate on Cecil’s orders, but the Lizard League have upped their game since the last time they fought the Guardians of the Globe. Shrinking Rae and Dupli-Kate are both dead, and Rex is held at gunpoint by King Lizard. While Rex urges Lizard to get it over with and kill him, as Rex is a main character it’s unlikely Lizard will shoot him.
Instead, what’s more likely to happen is that Lizard will make the classic villain mistake of leaving the hero alive to be saved. Cecil will likely be the one to rescue Rex and defeat King Lizard, and he’ll have to put Rex in the hospital while he recovers from his injuries and gets a new hand. This process will likely take time, meaning that when Rex finally gets around to eating his pizza, it will have gone very cold indeed. Cecil will also have to find new members for his premier superhero team and rely on Invincible more, putting more strain on his personal life.
Will Invincible defeat the Sequids?
Invincible’s situation isn’t much better than Rex’s. He, Atom Eve, and the Guardians of the Globe are struggling to fight the Sequids due to their overwhelming numbers. Eve attempted to protect them while Robot/Rudy worked on an amplifier to stun them, but was unable to hold her bubble and passed out to the shock. This makes her and Rudy vulnerable to the Sequids, and the trailer shows them being taken over by them. This will happen in the next episode.
Eve and Rudy being controlled by the Sequids will make defeating them that much harder, especially as Eve can manipulate all the elements. The fight against them is likely to leave some of the major players heavily injured, and perhaps Shapesmith will sacrifice himself to stop the Sequids. He is responsible for this entire mess, and a sacrifice could help redeem him. This fight will also take a long time now, having detrimental effects on Invincible’s personal and school life. His grades could slide even further, and he’s continually not there for Amber or William. Furthermore, his brother might have grown up even more when he gets back. Cecil will likely still try and take control of his care, upsetting Debbie, who’s already struggling to figure out the best way.

Of course, the next episode could bring in a huge number of other plot threads. It’s clear Donald still has issues with Cecil after finding out his memory was wiped to hide his trauma, Allen now has a mission to recruit Invincible, and who knows what Angstrom Levy is planning. His unleashing whatever plans he has would likely be devastating, especially as there aren’t many heroes left to defend the Earth.
Invincible Season 2 Episode 5 Release Date and Where to Watch
Invincible Season 2 Episode 6 will be released exclusively on Prime Video on March 21, 2024. The title hasn’t been revealed yet, and neither has the episode description. The first half of the season and Season 1 are already on the service, along with a bonus episode about the origins of Atom Eve.
