Honeymoonish Plot Details
The plot of Honeymoonish follows a couple on their honeymoon who slowly realize that they may have nothing in common at all. Noor and Hamad become involved in a series of comical misunderstandings that challenge and change their perceptions of each other. Will the realization that they are very different people ruin the marriage or make it?
Netflix has enjoyed plentiful success in the romantic comedy genre before with hits like The Out-Laws, Love Is In The Air, and Irish Wish, and Honeymoonish looks set to follow in those footsteps while hopefully approaching the well-trodden formula from a new angle.
Who Will Star in Honeymoonish?
Noor is played by Nour AlGhandour and Hamad is played by Mahmoud Boushahri.
Nour is an Egyptian actress who is based in Kuwait, starting her career as a broadcaster on the Al-Rai Channel. However, Nour started to lean towards acting and would receive a break when she was cast in the series Female Student Housing. Mahmoud Boushahri has been featured in many TV series and films, including Wild Ommo in 2022 and Minny We Finy in 2019.
As well as the two leads, the film features the debut of Kuwaiti fashion blogger and model, Ascia Al Faraj. The online influencer plays the part of Amal, who is the devoted wife of Wael, played by Mahdi Barwiz, and Noor’s best friend and secret matchmaker behind the scenes.

Honeymoonish will be available to stream globally on Netflix from April 29th, 2024.
Where was Honeymoonish filmed?
Honeymoonish was the first Kuwaiti film to be shot in Lebanon. The film’s director Elie El-Semaan is Lebanese, and the movie, produced by Eagle Films, will set a new precedent with its filming location.

Who directed Honeymoonish?
Honeymoonish was directed by Elie El-Semaan with a script penned by Eiad Saleh. The director has previously worked on TV series such as Rain Over Beirut which would see him win the Murex D’, the annual Lebanese award for achievements in the arts, for Best Drama Director in 2022.
Elie himself is Lebanese, and this project marks his debut in feature films. In an article with Arab News, the director would talk about the film and say, “I think the film will change the perception of Arabs. Once people watch it, they’ll understand what I mean.”
The article goes on to ask the director about the difference between TV and film. He would reveal,
“The main difference between series and film is the amount of time you have — in a series you have, let’s say, three days to shoot an episode, whereas for a 90-minute film, you have 30 to 40 days to shoot.”
