Edwin Stanton’s Health Will Worsen
We have watched the sickness begin to take a toll on Edwin Stanton to the point that his wife has asked him several times to step back. However, with his efforts to keep his word to President Lincoln, he forged ahead without hesitation. His goal is to take down John Wilkes Booth at whatever cost to get retribution for the president’s assassination. As he and his team head to Virginia, as the synopsis for the next episode suggests, I expect his health to play a vital role.
How will George Sanders fire back at Edwin Stanton?
After a heated confrontation with Edwin Stanton, Sanders found himself heading to jail. Of course, this was temporary, with him quickly posting bail at the end of the last episode. Sanders has plenty of money, and what Stanton did isn’t going to go without consequences. I expect we will see Sanders meet with President Johnson to discuss how to get rid of Stanton.
Virginia Will Prove Hostile
John Wilkes Booth and David Herold are finally off to Virginia, expecting to be welcomed with open arms. However, we saw Edwin Stanton and his team find the map, which led them to Virginia, too. With the state being very much in favor of the Confederates, Stanton and his team will not be welcomed with open arms. Because of this, I think we see a possible shootout leading to a few deaths.
Conversely, Booth will finally get the help he needs for his ankle to start preparing him for his next move. With two episodes remaining, I don’t expect to see the events leading up to his death unfold until the finale, but the lead-up to it should be a sight to see.
