Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3

WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

The latest double-bill of Star Wars: The Bad Batch saw Omega making a big decision. With the Shadow Trooper having discovered the location of Pabu in Episode 11, Omega realized that the only way to protect the innocent was to give the Empire what they wanted — her. She surrendered herself with the intention of Crosshair placing a tracker on the Shadow Trooper’s ship, but he wasn’t able to, which means that in Episode 12 of Season 3, titled “Juggernaut”, she’ll be on her own.

Omega Will Team Up With Emerie

Given this development, the context provided by Episode 10 suddenly seems more important. Emerie is now Chief Scientist at Mount Tantiss, having assumed Nala Se’s old role and security clearance. She discovered that the vault contained multiple child test subjects who Hemlock had been experimenting on, and throughout the episode, we saw her becoming increasingly disillusioned.

Once Omega is returned to Tantiss, she will have an ally in Emerie. She might take some convincing to turn against the Empire, but she’ll get there in the end. I also strongly suspect that they’ll collaborate with Nala Se, though if someone has to die to raise the stakes in this final season it’ll likely be the Kaminoan.

How Will the Bad Batch Find Mount Tantiss?

This is one of the most pressing questions, since without the tracker, it’s going to take Clone Force 99 at least a couple of episodes to find Omega. She may even have to escape again in order to reveal the location to them, which would make sense if she teamed up with Emerie. Nala Se could be killed in the escape, and then Omega and Emerie could rendezvous with Hunter and the others. Then, they could all team up to destroy Tantiss and deal with Hemlock together.

This is probably a bit fan fiction, but with Dave Filoni around, that’s often what Star Wars aims for. This would also be a good opportunity to bring Wolffe back into the fold, having him help locate and destroy Tantiss using his Imperial connections and then going rogue with Rex to eventually turn back up in Rebels.

Clone X Is Probably Commander Cody

We’ve speculated about this before, but despite Tech being the front-runner for the mysterious Shadow Trooper, a likelier bet is Commander Cody. With Crosshair’s dialogue in an earlier episode suggesting that the Bad Batch clones aren’t suitable test subjects for the Clone X program, this makes Cody the only realistic candidate.

The unmasking of Clone X might not happen as soon as the next episode, but it will certainly happen before the end of the season.
