What is the plot for A Part of You?
There is an interesting premise at the heart of the film, but going into the movie cold and not knowing too much about the plot might be wise. However, Agnes has an older sister, Julia, and as is often the case, Julia is a popular and outgoing party animal, with a hot boyfriend and everything that Agnes wants for herself. Unexpectedly, a twist of fate shakes Agnes’ world to the core, pushing her into a new life, and as she finds herself living the life she always dreamt of, there’s a price to pay.

A Part of You Cast and Where You Might Know Them From
The film’s main cast caused a stir when it was released, as two of the leads had worked together before on another hugely popular project, the series Young Royals, and another is an international pop star.
The cast consists of Felicia Maxime, Edvin Ryding, Zara Larsson, and Ida Engvoll. You might know Felicia from her stint in the drama Young Royals where she played Stella. She also appeared in another TV series, Heartbeats, and was in the disaster thriller film The Abyss in 2023.

Edvin will also be familiar to you as he too appeared in Young Royals and The Abyss along with Felicia. Zara is more well known for her singing ability, signing with Ten Music Group in 2012, and releasing her first single in 2013. She released her first album in 2014, which included her hit single Uncover. She would go on to work with David Guetta and Tinie Tempah, and performed for the opening and closing concert of UEFA in Euro 2016. This film marks Zara’s first acting role.
Ida Engvoll recently appeared in two major TV series, The Kingdom and Love and Anarchy, and in 2023, she played Hanna in Paradise is Burning.
Who produced and directed A Part of You?
The film is produced by Stefan H. Linden and Alexandra Thönnersten for SF Studios, with Tim King named as executive producer. The film was directed by Sigge Ecklund, who may be more well-known for producing the hugely popular comedy podcast Filip och Fredriks Podcast.
Sigge is also a writer, with credits including the TV series All ar Fotografer and Alex Schulman: Alska Mig. This film is his directorial debut and when the news was released about his appointment he would say:
”I’ve been waiting my whole life for a screenplay that captures the horror and the magic of being a teenager. When I read Michaela Hamilton’s story I was blown away by the fact that it was all in there. The desperation and the beauty and that sense of urgency that you can only feel when you are 17”.
