Highlight of the Month
House of the Dragon (Season 2) | June 16
This one speaks for itself. The latest installment in the endlessly popular Game of Thrones universe is already highly anticipated after a well-received first season adapted from author George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood.
Season 2 will continue to follow the exploits of House Targaryen and their dragons in the midst of a civil war.

Sleeper Hit of the Month
Ren Faire | June 2
One of two lower-key releases in June toiling away under House of the Dragon‘s long shadow is Ren Faire, a documentary about the succession struggle in America’s largest renaissance festival.
There’s something about this particular pastime that is compelling, especially how seriously people take it, and it seems like that seriousness will be played up to the max here. It will likely have more mainstream appeal than it seems like at first glance.
Fantasmas | June 7
Julio Torres, Emma Stone, Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano, and Julia Fox all star in this absurdist original series, and based on the cast you’d think this would qualify as one of the month’s highlights. However, it might be a little too peculiar for the mainstream, which lands it here in this section.
Either way, it’s worth keeping a close eye on.
