ALAS! The wedding is just around the corner in Virgin River Season 6, Episode 8, and you know what that means? It’s time for sweet, loopy Hope to arrange and host the rehearsal wedding and dinner!
MEL AND DOC
Mel is still hot and heavy about Doc. She explains to Jack what’s happened between them. Stubborn Mel tells Jack that if Doc wants to make amends, he can, but until then, he’s still uninvited to the wedding.
JACK PANICS. Understandably, he sees that Doc and Mel are as stubborn as each other and doesn’t want them to miss out on this magical occasion.
So Jack goes to the only person he thinks can help – cheeky-meddling-Hope. They both plan a trick to get Mel and Doc together.
Hope is COUNTING on Jack to put on his bed puppy dog face to achieve their plans!
Unfortunately, Jack’s puppy dog face fails. It just freaks Doc and makes him realize Hope’s involvement.
Hope and Jack’s plans, unfortunately, fail. But that means it’s time for plan B.
So Hope devises another plan to get Doc and Mel back together, which inevitably fails after more and more bickering.
(Doc and Everett have it out, which leads to Doc’s realization that he’s been wrong this whole time and needs to make amends with Mel).
THE REHEARSAL BOAT IS ABOUT TO TAKE OFF, but just before it does, Doc comes running down the dock, hoping he hasn’t missed it.
Mel smiles brightly, ready to forgive him.
They have a beautiful rehearsal dinner with beautiful friends, good food, and sentimental speeches.
MIKE AND BRIE
Despite what’s been happening with Brie and Brady, somehow, she plucks up the courage to ask Mike to move in with her.
However, they don’t have the same chemistry as Brie and Brady, which makes this situation weird in Season 6.
DOC AND EVERETT
Doc and Everett, the answer to the question we’ve been waiting for. What’s the beef about?
The answer to this question occurs at a grave: JORDAN PULLMAN: 1987 – 1999.
And so Everett confesses. The night that Doc saved Everett’s life, which was the night Jordan passed away, Everett was drunk and joyriding on his motorcycle. But this wasn’t because of arrogance or negligence; it was because he wanted to end his life.
All this time, Doc believed Everett was just being a reckless fool. Doc blamed Everett for taking him away from Jordan’s medical care.
But realistically, Doc could only save one of them that night. And it ended up being Everett.
Everett thanks Doc for everything he’s done for Mel in the sweet resolution to Doc and Everett’s feud.
ALL THE SMALL THINGS
Brady goes to pay Jimmy a little visit. All cocky and masculine, Brady tells Jimmy he knows all about his plans and scheme. But not just that – he teases Jimmy by telling him how good he’s going to take care of Lark and Ava and that he is going to make sure they stay far away from the scumbags like him.
As the sowing circle is working on Mel’s dress, Muriel delivers the heartbreaking news that she does have cancer. Sweetly, the group response is to share with Muriel that they all have these things in their lives, but more importantly, they all have each other while they navigate it.
Season 6, Episode 8 closes with Everett finishing off the song he was writing for Sarah. As he takes the pen off the paper, Everett has a heart attack – he manages to call Mel and Jack, but will they get to him in time?
