If there’s anything The Pitt consistently makes me think about – and, to be clear, it generally makes me think about a lot of different things, not least “is that a prosthesis?!” – it’s how hospitals are even able to run at all. The intake is never-ending.

Good news! I think Episode 2 of Best Medicine is definitely better than the premiere, which is a good sign.

As predicted, High Potential Season 2 has returned to its standard case-of-the-week procedural format, with most of Episode 9, “Under the Rug”, proceeding as if the events of the solid second half of the art thief two-parter never happened.

Guys, Brilliant Minds Season 2 might have peaked already. It was always going to be a tall order for Episode 12 to compete with one of the better outings in the show's history, but "The Rider" feels like a bit of a regressive step all the same, lacking the raw emotional sentiment of its immediate predecessor and a lot of the compelling overarching storytelling that has been threaded throughout the season.

Then again, considering he was miraculously able to maintain his cover story despite being drunk, drugged, and lovingly nursed by a dangerous gun-runner, he probably has quite the constitution.

Well, that felt good, didn't it? Personally, I thought Achillia would get the privilege of sorting out the Brothers Ferox, but given the events of the previous episode, Korris getting his hands on them felt right. And that's kind of the point.

High Potential is pretty good at these two-parters, isn’t it? In case you needed a refresher, Season 2’s midseason finale left Morgan with a bit of egg on her face, since it turned out she was frolicking with the prime suspect in the case of a stolen Rembrandt and the murder of a museum curator.

In my recap of that powerful Eric Dane episode, I said that sometimes Brilliant Minds just decides to drop an hour of emotional torture out of nowhere.

If you didn’t know that Best Medicine was a remake of the cosy British hit Doc Martin, you’ll figure it out pretty soon into Episode 1, which is basically a carbon copy of the original show’s pilot.

I hate to say I told you so, but I did. To be fair, Brilliant Minds Season 2 hasn’t exactly been secretive about Charlie Porter’s ill intentions, and the Halloween special dropped a pretty big clue about his real motivations.
