Sorry, but what is going on here? All's Fair hasn't exactly been easy to take seriously since the beginning, but Episode 7 takes the show's blurring of drama and comedy to such an extreme that I have no real idea of whether it's finally revealing itself as an outright parody or is simply so rubbish that the distinction has become meaningless.

What do you get when you take a show about mindless excess and complete, weaponised vacuity, and then have everyone in it suddenly realise that they want to do something meaningful with their lives?

I was going to start this recap by saying that things aren’t looking too good in It: Welcome to Derry, but now that I think about it, that’s only a matter of perspective.

Robin Hood and his Not-So-Merry Men have definitely crossed a line. They’re not just bandits now, but fully-fledged outlaws.

Can you smell that? No, it’s not hydrogen sulphide – although, this being Landman, it kind of is hydrogen sulphide – but the skeleton of a plot, and a point, both of which seem to be manifesting in Season 2 in a way that they never quite managed to do first time around.

Mayor of Kingstown continues to treat Season 4 as an exercise in how bad things can get for almost everyone involved.

We’re finally on the penultimate episode of Typhoon Family, and about midway through, I realised I’ve checked out.

When it’s firing on all cylinders, Sheriff Country is a superb procedural, as evidenced by its previous outing.

It definitely feels like Boston Blue is learning. Like the previous episode, which for the first time attempted to meaningfully challenge almost all of its characters, Episode 6, “Code of Ethics”, throws in a few new wrinkles, especially for Danny and Baez.

Stranger Things Season 5 hasn’t quite felt like Stranger Things of old yet, something remedied by Episode 3, “The Turnbow Trap”.

You could make a case, if you were so inclined, that the Season 5 premiere of Stranger Things felt every second of its runtime because it was trying a bit too hard to settle us back in.

It takes an effort to remember this now since it was roughly a lifetime ago, but the abduction of Will Byers in Season 1 of Stranger Things remains the most important component of the narrative.

Just what is going on here? Loot has been way off the rails in Season 3, and if I’m not mistaken, it seems like its covert objective is to make us despise every single character.

Unpopular opinion though it might be, I think Mayor Christie Holman has been my favourite character in Murder in a Small Town Season 2.

In hindsight, Palm Royale delivered one of its best ever episodes last week, setting a high bar for Season 2, and it was very unlikely that Episode 3, “Maxine Solves a Murder”, was going to clear it.

Mileage may vary, but I think it has taken until Episode 9 for The Last Frontier to figure out the mode it operates best in.

We’ve got a lot to thank Rhea Seehorn for, for obvious reasons, but one of the biggest is carrying an entire episode of Pluribus on her own.

You might be surprised to learn that Episode 7 is not the penultimate episode of Down Cemetery Road, which is weird since it really feels like it is.
