Paradise is a really, really good television show. I've been thinking about this a lot throughout Season 2, since every episode just keeps nailing it. At first, I was worried that I'm just a sucker for the Dan Fogelman brand of schmaltz, which remains a possibility, since the previous chapter laid it on really thick.

I always feel bad comparing Sheriff Country to Boston Blue directly, since it doesn’t seem like a fair comparison, but they’re both procedurals airing on the same channel on the same day, and one is significantly better than the other in a way that is strikingly obvious whenever they try to adopt a similar cadence.

It didn’t take a genius to work out that Boston Blue wrapping up its most compelling overarching subplot was going to leave it a little adrift. Episode 3, “Reunion”, does away with the vast majority of scenes involving characters other than Hannah and Bailey, and indeed, as per the title, brings Owen himself back into their physical orbit.

When it was revealed that Season 2 of The Pitt was going to be set on the Fourth of July, everyone envisioned a lot of firework-related nastiness. In Episode 9, over halfway through the season, we finally get some of that. But it’s the least of anyone’s problems in PTMC.
