“Woe’s Hollow” is a surprisingly horror-tinged masterclass of a Severance episode, and the best of Season 2 thus far by a margin.

It was obvious from the double-bill premiere that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was a pretty good show, but Episodes 3, 4, & 5 really make it clear.

I’ve been a vocal critic of Mayfair Witches Season 2 and, to be fair, I still think it’s a bit rubbish. But Episode 5, “The Thrall”, was okay!

As of Episode 9, When the Stars Gossip has pretty much lost me. It’s a shame, really, since there have been so many glimmers of potential that the fact the K-Drama doesn’t seem to be cohering into anything feels like a waste.

Severance has always been about a very stark dichotomy; innie versus outie, work versus home, truth versus well-sculpted simulation.

It’s the script, isn’t it? I think that’s what’s irking me about When the Stars Gossip. We’re on Episode 7 now and the K-Drama still hasn’t really improved in any meaningful sense.

After an excellently mysterious premiere reintroduced viewers to the world of Severance in its much-anticipated Season 2, “Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig” does the same thing from the opposite angle.

One of the problems with When the Stars Gossip – and it’s admittedly a "me" problem – is that I only care what’s going on in one narrow section of it.
