The Outpost Season 2, Episode 7 recap: "Where You Go, People Die"
3

Summary

“Where You Go, People Die” is packed full of soapy shenanigans, from weddings and wedding crashers to spies, betrayals, confessions and kidnaps.

This recap of The Outpost Season 2, Episode 7, “Where You Go, People Die”, contains spoilers. You can check out our thoughts on the previous episode by clicking these words.

You know how it is — you wait for ages for the dashing knight to return, and then all of a sudden he’s stabbing the heroine and crashing a wedding. Isn’t that how the saying goes? Well, either way, Garret (Jake Stormoen) is back. Following on from his sly shanking of Talon (Jessica Green) in last week’s cliffhanger ending, “Where You Go, People Die” reveals her fate: She’s fine. Sort of. The little magical fairy thing in her head senses her impending demise and sucks her through a portal to a mysterious land of fire and ruin, where presumably the rest of the Blackbloods have been living all this time.

Elsewhere in The Outpost, things are looking a bit more positive — temporarily, anyway. Janzo (Anand Desai-Barochia), now head-over-heels for Naya (Amita Suman) and riding high on their new relationship, thinks he might have found a cure for the plagueling epidemic. To celebrate, he takes Naya for a “romantic” meal, at around the same time that Gwynn (Imogen Waterhouse) tries to charm Tobin (Aaron Fontaine) with awful baked goods. Love is in the air in The Outpost Season 2, Episode 7, or at least so it seems.

But there’s another thing in the air: betrayal. Naya can’t cope with her own treachery and confesses all to Janzo, who does not take the news well. He demands that she confess to Gwynn and that he’ll support her living her truth (she had a good reason, after all) but Tobin is already onto her, and drags her before the queen with inarguable evidence that she’s been up to no good. Gwynn is, naturally, fuming. But in “Where You Go, People Die” the good queen has other matters to deal with, including the state of the realm and her upcoming nuptials, since she has now done a complete pivot and decided Tobin is marriage material after all.

The negotiations include Tobin’s cousin Lord Milus (Jarren Dalmeda), who’s just as loathsome but a shrewder ruler, and the decision is made that everyone will get along and Gwynn will marry Tobin. In what seems like moments, the entire ceremony is arranged. If anyone can tell me who is booking weddings in The Outpost, I think I could use their services. Talon re-emerges from the portal and sets out to warn Gwynn before Garret arrives to gatecrash the shindig, but of course, she’s too late. The Outpost Season 2, Episode 7, “Where You Go, People Die”, ends with Garret, having convinced Gwynn she’s in danger, making off with her on a horse — presumably to be dealt with by the Holy Three. Drama!
