Brews Brothers season 1, episode 5, “LA’s Best Nose” is hangover defined. The group wakes up from Monk Monday with an entire brewery to clean and tidy. They have to think on their feet quickly as they are in a competition called “LA’s Best Nose” and they need someone to represent Rodman’s as Adam has broken his nose — he cannot smell.
They decide to recruit the Monk Truffle.
A lot happens at the beer smelling competition and Truffle hits it out of the park with his flurry of descriptive words to get through each round. As they are representing the brewery, Sarah tells Wilhelm to tone down the drinking and not embarrass himself, so he decides to drink his beer with yeast to keep him sober.
Truffle nearly loses the competition due to the main competitor forcing him to sniff smelling salts, but he perseveres and wins the competition, which is a big win for their brewery.
But the biggest surprise of Brews Brothers season 1, episode 5, “LA’s Best Nose” is Adam; he actually gets drunk in Episode 5 after realizing that beer leads to feeling drunk — he’s never understood that both go together. He is a freer version of himself, becoming loving to everyone, offering to buy his friends food. He drops the bomb that Sarah rang him to come to save his brother’s brewery. When Wilhelm asks Sarah about this, she says she was worried about him, and they have a slight moment of eye contact, suggesting a romance is heading our way.
As we near the end of Brews Brothers season 1, episode 5, “LA’s Best Nose”, a drunk Adam believes he has a chance with Becky so enters her food truck. She claims that it will be a threesome with Adam, her and her partner Elvis, but due to their spirituality and connection, Adam having sex with Elvis means he will also be having sex with her — it’s a twosome, but with three of us. The next day, Adam learns that Truffle had sex with Becky, and it was one on one. Adam got played, but hey, at least his sense of smell returns.
