How does Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” open?

Episode 10 begins with Victor holding the letter for Benji and he slips it into his locker. Victor still hasn’t told Mia the truth but he wants to give her an amazing night at the dance first. In front of Felix, another girl asks him to the dance. Victor tells Simon, “I just need to make it through tonight”. Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” sees Victor having to push through one more day.

Just no

Veronica offers Mia some jewelry for the dance but Mia says, “You don’t have to do this”. She expresses how she wants her father and Veronica to be happy but she ends it with, “We don’t have that kind of relationship”.

Before the dance, Lake keeps trying to make Felix jealous; meanwhile, Pilar is annoyed that there is another family secret after finding Victor’s letter.

The dance

At the dance, Benji approaches Victor in the toilets and tells him that he forgives him but expresses how he still needs to stay away from him. Andrew overhears the conversation but does not say anything. As the dance goes in full swing, Felix cannot keep his eye off Lake. Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” is complicated for more than one reason.

Pilar is still in investigative mode and approaches Benji and Derek and tries to find out who the ‘mysterious lover’ is — Derek asks Benji if he went on the work trip with Victor; it’s all spilling out in the wrong way. It gets worse as Felix tells Victor that Pilar might know about Benji.

Please don’t tell her

Victor speaks to Andrew about what he heard and admits he loves Mia but just “not like that”. Andrew agrees not to tell anyone but that he must tell Mia. And then around the corner, Benji and Derek are arguing about Victor, so Victor tells Derek that he kissed Benji, not the other way around 0- “Benji is the best and you guys are awesome together. I promise to stay out of your way”. Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” is willing to give up something special due to the lies.

I want you to be happy

Felix tells Lake that he’s glad that she’s having fun — “I want you to be happy and if Kieran is what you are looking for, then I want you to be happy”. Lake walks off, looking emotional. This is clearly not over.

Seeing from a distance

Benji meets Victor outside and tells him that he broke up with Derek because something has been off for a while. “I want to be with someone who doesn’t make me feel anxious all the time and be myself, and that’s enough”. Benji tells Victor that’s how he makes him feel. Victor says his feelings are reciprocal and they kiss. Victor vows to tell Mia. As they kiss again, Mia sees from a distance. Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” has some predictability behind it but the message is important as it reaches a conclusion.

King & Queen

Victor and Mia win the King & Queen at the dance. Lake gets up to accept it on behalf of Mia — she invites Felix on the stage on behalf of Victor — “Because he told me he wants to be happy”. Lake admits that Felix makes her happy. Felix gets up on stage and kisses her. It’s good that they gave these two characters a nice ending as it was evident from the start where this was going to lead.

Was any of this real?

Victor chases after Mia and she tells him she saw him and Benji kiss — “All this time, was any of it real?”. Victor tells Mia she’s his favorite person but that’s hardly a response she needed. Pilar walks up behind Victor and accuses him of being a cheater and explains she’s angry because her whole world has been ripped away from her — “Now I think I don’t even know you”. Pilar feels her brother was the only person she could trust during a difficult move from Texas. Victor assures his sister that he will tell her everything but wants to take her home first.

I feel stupid

Mia tells Andrew that she feels stupid but he assures her that it happens a lot. Mia invites Andrew inside her house to keep hanging out but he doesn’t want to be her rebound and kisses her on the cheek — he’s ready to prove that he’s a nice guy. Veronica sees Mia crying and they hug while Mia sobs. Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” provides a small breakthrough for Mia’s family in difficult times.

How does Love, Victor season 1, episode 10, “Spring Fling” end?

Simon messages Victor — “All you can do is be honest with the people you love”. When Victor gets home, he gathers the family but his parents have something to say first; the father stated the affair happened for a reason because they were off and they’ve admitted that over the years they have changed as they fell in love as teens. Their parents need to figure out if they still want to be together, so they are going to spend some time apart — they are separating temporarily. The parents then ask Victor what was he going to tell them, but as he walks out, he stops and says “Mum, Dad, I’m gay”. Those words have been meaning to burst out of him since the very start of this Hulu series and was a sensible ending.
