Summary
It’s difficult to admit, but since chapter nine, this series hasn’t really hit its stride — it continues to delve into the past, but with the audience already knowing the outcome, we have to ask — what’s the objective? Episode 11 is disappointing, and we learn nothing new.
This recap of the Netflix K-drama series Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) episode 11 contains significant spoilers.
This series now has a problem, but we’ll get to that later in this article. After the last chapter, episode 11 delves into how the affairs materialised, giving us insights into how the three wandering men got closer to their mistresses.
Episode 11 begins with the audacious, emotional affair between Yu-sin and A-mi, enjoying drinks at a bar. Yu-sin becomes consumed by her features again, including how she drinks and even gulps. The conversation of “first loves” come up, and Yu-sin tells her his “first” was his mother, not his biological one — Dong-mi. A-mi thinks it’s strange (it is), but Yu-sin says that what is important is that his wife and family are happy (I’m not sure how his logic correlates here). When Yu-sin gets upset about his painful past with family, A-mi caresses his face. Yu-sin offers to take A-mi home after plenty of deep conversations. On the taxi ride home, they fall asleep on each other.
We have gathered in episode 11 that Yu-sin is extremely simple but manipulative — there’s also a tinge of controlling in his actions. I’m not exactly sure why women are so magnetised to him — he’s becoming weirder with each episode.
Pan Mun-ho finds his wife
Ye-jeong is still frustrated at the lack of attention from her husband and vents to Boo Hye-rung. Pan Mun-ho heads over to get his wife after the funeral of a friend. Ye-jeong suggests that he goes home and that she will stay with her daughter-in-law. She then brings up the dog Dongmi that Pan Mun-ho loves and sarcastically talks about his level of care. Pan Mun-ho and Ye-jeong stay over, and their small bickering over the dog continues. At this point, we do not care about this marriage.
Yu-sin and A-mi hug
Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) episode 11 shows how intimate it’s getting between Yu-sin and A-mi.
Yu-sin returns home, and Sa Pi-young looks after him as he’s very drunk. He lies and says he was out with drinks with another man. It then shows how Yu-sin took A-mi back into her apartment. She teases him, telling him she’s scared of intruders. Yu-sin looks around to see the apartment is clear. As he leaves, A-mi tells him it’s her first time home alone since being away and asks for his jacket to be over her as she sleeps. Yu-sin tells her to lock the door and go to sleep as he has to go home. A-mi then asks for a hug — after the hug, Yu-sin slowly walks away, and there’s a suggestion of regret on his face. A-mi is basically batting her eyelids, and Yu-sin is falling for every move — he’s not very bright.
The next day, Yu-sin drops breakfast off for A-mi. She looks at him in his car from the balcony, and they ring each other. This is an emotional affair, and it feels like it will turn physical soon.
How to make a heart attack
Dong-mi keeps on feeding her husband Shin Gi-rim glutinous food. In a previous chapter, she saw the link between certain foods and health complications at an older age. She wants his glucose levels to rise. She’s slowly murdering him; he’s a ticking time bomb, with a heart attack incoming.
Sa-hyeon and Song Won exchange numbers
Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) episode 11 shows how uninspiring Sa-hyeon is; again, I’m surprised how these men succeeded in having affairs because they are not doing anything stimulating.
Episode 11 heads back to the gym with Sa-hyeon snooping around, hoping to see Song Won. He joins her in the breakout area to have some tea. They bump into each other again in a cafe, and Song Won offers him some food. Sa-hyeon joins her table. They are slowly getting to know each other, and Sa-hyeon compliments her salad (wow, what a move!). What’s noticeable is how polite they are with each other, with the odd reference to Sa-hyeon’s wife, Boo Hye-rung. They end up exchanging numbers so Song Won can “send recipes”. Boo Hye-rung rings Sa-hyeon, and she’s worried that she has throat cancer due to a lump, so Sa-hyeon rushes off.
Later on, Sa-hyeon texts Song Won and apologies for not paying for food and offers to pay for breakfast. She texts back saying she cannot do breakfast, and Sa-hyeon wonders if she’s upset and tries to ring her, but it goes to voicemail.
The ending
The next day and late in the night, Yu-sin visits A-mi and then swiftly tries to leave. Though we must add, he’s constantly playing games at this point. Yu-sin clearly has mummy issues, and he uses every manipulative tactic in his roster to have women need him — in reality, he’s the needy one. Anyway, A-mi seems disappointed and wants to lead him out herself. As they walk to the car, A-mi nearly hurts her ankle in her heels, so they link arms. Yu-sin buys her baked sweet potatoes, and they eat them on the bench together. The stepmother comes up again, and Yu-sin says Dong-mi is like a sister to him now. What’s more surprising is how A-mi hasn’t sprinted off (even in heels). Why is she so beggy for a man that wants to have sex with his mother and talks about every relationship with a woman in his life like he’s the brother, and they are the sister? Let’s hope there isn’t an episode that checks out his search history.
As the episode ends, A-mi then joins Yu-sin in his car. He puts on the seatbelt for her, and she looks slightly overwhelmed.
It’s difficult to admit, but since chapter nine, this series hasn’t really hit its stride — it continues to delve into the past, but with the audience already knowing the outcome, we have to ask — what’s the objective? Additional points

- Park Hae-ryun looks at videos of Nam Ga-bin’s musicals late into the night. Lee Si-eun asks why he’s up so late, and he tells her he’s monitoring a performance. He doesn’t even look at his wife while he says it — he’s so consumed by it.
- Sa Pi-young wants to learn Dong-mi’s recipes, and she’s curious as to why she’s so hesitant to give them. Sa Pi-young brings home some of Dong-mi’s food for Yu-sin, and Dong-mi is furious. She rings Sa Pi-young, but Ji-a answers.
