Summary
Nearing the end, there’s the death of one of the main characters. Yet, the stakes still don’t feel as high. Despite the fast pace of events, it’s not got the feeling that there’s only one episode of Hanna before it finishes forever.

Hanna season 3, episode 5 recap
In a somewhat surprising find, Marissa comes across Ethan, who is alive! Aware that she’s been tracked, Marissa blows the apartment up once she and Ethan are safely away. In a hidden location, Abbas is with Nadiya when he warns her against running out in the open. Does she listen? No. Will she regret not listening? Yes.
With Hanna now in custody, Gordon pays her a visit. He is smug as he tells her that Max wasn’t as dumb as she thought, i.e. her efforts to destroy the servers have failed. Ethan inspects the evidence that Marissa and he reveals that it’s encrypted, and without Max, it’s likely it will be unusable. Not good news for Hanna and Marissa. Gordon also has some loose ends; the targets whose deaths Hanna faked. Gordon hands over an image of a recently deceased Katerina. Now, he wants Abbas. Hanna leaps for Gordon, but ends up restrained and getting burnt with a cigar, much like he used to do to Marissa.
Free but stuck with no resources, Carmichael uses a public server to call Marissa. He says he will help get Hanna out in return for a passport and a new name. After Marissa seemingly agrees, he boards a train. Trouble is ahead, however, as Sandy is also on the train. Carmichael attempts to flee, but she corners him on an abandoned train. “Target secured, send pick up team”.
Marissa meets with Carmichael, and he hands her the cancellation codes. But it’s all a trick! It turns out that Marissa has indirectly ordered the first 10 assassinations. Which to Gordon makes Marissa a part of Pioneer now. But Marissa decides to flee. As she does so, Carmichael is shot dead by Sandy.
The ending
In Warsaw, Jules pulls a gun on Sofia, “listen to me, you have to move from this apartment tonight, change your name, give me your number, I will tell you when you are safe”. Just what exactly is Jules up to? Just as Hanna is about to be injected as a form of interrogation, she attacks them before attempting to escape through the vaults. Her attempts fail when she finds herself surrounded by armed men. As a result, Gordon tortures Hanna further, stating he will kill Abbas and Nadiya unless she gives him Marissa’s location. Reluctantly, she tells him where Marissa is.
Marissa, who is with Ethan, receives a call from Hanna. Hanna claims that Abbas has been located, and she needs Marissa to come to meet her. Upon meeting in person, Hanna tells Marissa that if they both hand themselves in, Gordon won’t kill Abbas. As Marissa wonders whether the torture is getting too much for Hanna, Hanna shows Marissa a hidden message in her hands; “Max is alive”.
