In The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, Anna is often seen on the phone with her therapist. And who can blame her after all the trauma that she has been through? But who is her therapist, and are they a character that the audience has already met?
Just before Lisa gets murdered, Anna gets shown speaking to her therapist, who she tells that she is so sick of talking about her problems that she could kill someone (motive?), But Anna doesn’t do herself any favors, as when her therapist warns her not to mix her medication with alcohol, she still continues to drink vast amounts of wine.
When Anna finds her arrested for Lisa’s murder in the second half of the series, she begins to suspect whether she could have been the one responsible for Lisa’s death. And so, when Anna finds blood pouring out from her attic, she calls her therapist. In her hour of need, the therapist calms her down and talks Anna into the attic, where she learns that the blood is just red paint. Phew!
After the therapist convinces Anna to step inside the attic, Anna learns that someone has been living in her attic. And that shocking discovery allows Anna to uncover the identity of the person who killed Lisa. So, clearly, the therapist has a lot of influence on Anna, and it could be argued that Anna would not have been able to clear her name without the therapist.

Anna’s former husband, Douglas, is her therapist! It becomes clear that even though Anna and Douglas have separated, Douglas still wants to keep a check on Anna. And, unbeknownst to her, he became her therapist.
By becoming her therapist, Douglas manages to keep a check on Anna, listen to her worries, and do what he can to keep her safe! It all works out well, as, towards the end of the final episode of The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window the viewers learn that Anna and Douglas have not only gotten back together but have had another child.
