Does Nicole die from the infection in Raising Dion season 2 - Netflix series

This article, ” does Nicole die from the infection,” contains spoilers regarding Netflix’s Raising Dion season 2.

Read the review of season 2.

In the second half of Raising Dion season 2, Nicole is infected by the strange flowers in the sinkhole. There’s never really an explanation of these flowers or where they are from, but once infected, the person becomes an unrecognizable monster that stampedes through the town.

BIONA tries and create a cure for the infection but finds themselves unable to come up with anything. The serum they make kills the host, meaning that Nicole is running out of time. Suzanne gives Nicole a serum in three small doses, so she doesn’t turn into a monster. The only downside to this is that she’ll die in 36 hours, so she needs to make the most out of life.

This plot point is underdelivered and lacks emotion. This really should have been the crux for season 2, but instead, it seems rather casual. It should have been a painful story of a child about to lose his mother in unfair circumstances.

Does Nicole die from the infection in Raising Dion season 2?

Nicole does not die in Raising Dion season 2. It never felt like she was going to die, despite the second season trying to angle for it. As season 2 ends, Nicole believes injecting the serum in the sinkhole will stop the infections. Dion teleports into the sinkhole and injects the serum. And it works; all the monsters return to their previous form as human beings, and Dion gets to keep his mother in his life.

It was a lazy attempt by the series even to suggest Nicole might die, and it could have benefitted from depth. At least she isn’t dead, though. That would have been heartbreaking for Dion.

You can watch this series with a subscription to Netflix.
