Summary

The writers are trying to find conclusions in every character, but I can’t help feeling that all this could have happened in season 2 if the story had more pace.

If this is the final season, it would make a lot of sense. The writers are trying to find conclusions in every character, but I can’t help feeling that all this could have happened in season 2 if the story had more pace.

Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) season 3, episode 7 recap

Episode 7 opens with Si-eun seeing Park Hae-ryun. She does not want their children to see him sick, and when he tries to give her a gift, she rejects it. When Si-eun gets home, she tells her children that Seo Ban has asked for her hand in marriage. Her daughter is happy and excited for her, but her son disagrees — he’s thinking about his father; he feels his dad deserves a second chance. Later on, the pressure is on for Si-eun — Seo Ban raises his intentions; he wants to get married as soon as possible.

With Dong-ma in her sights, Pi-young comes clean with her daughter Ji-a and tells her that she and her father are divorced — Pi-young expects her daughter to continue living her life regardless of this news. It’s clear she’s ready to move on and has a flirtatious phone call with Dong-ma after this.

Sa-hyeon’s parents tell Hye-ryung that all men make mistakes, and they think she should get back with Sa-hyeon and nurture a family together. However, Hye-ryung stands her ground and reveals she has no feelings for him. It’s difficult to understand the game Hye-ryung is playing in season 3; she fancies the idea of being with Seo Ban or his brother Dong-ma (both now off the market) but also seems frustrated with Sa-hyeon.

Ji-a sees her father with A-mi at the bookstore, so she confronts his new partner when her father leaves. A-mi is startled but sits down with Ji-a for a chat. A-mi interrogates her and shows her anger at her father’s new partner. She tells A-mi that she does not want to see her father again.

The ending

As we approach the final stages of episode 11, Park Hae-ryun heads over to Si-eun’s house and tries to give her a gift in front of the children. He then takes his chance and asks for Si-eun back, claiming he wants to be devoted to the family and asks for forgiveness. He even offers to join their skiing holiday for Christmas Eve.

Overwhelmed, Si-eun speaks to Park Hae-ryun privately at a cafe while their daughter spies on them. She drops the news to him that she’s getting married, and Park Hae-ryun is in disbelief. The grass clearly was not greener on the other side, and he’s been burned for it.

As the episode ends, Hye-ryung heads over to Sa-hyeon’s house again. She soothes the crying newborn baby, but then she’s startled when she sees the spirit of Song Won.
