Bridgerton season 2, episode 6 recap
Queen Charlotte continues with her plan to learn who Lady Whistledown is, and so she plants fake rumours in Mayfair. With the wedding underway, Daphne argues with Anthony. Nonetheless, the wedding goes ahead, with Queen Charlotte front and center. And when Anthony envisions Kate instead of Edwina, Edwina comes to the devastating realisation that Anthony and Kate have feelings for each other.
Edwina runs out of the wedding, and afterwards, demands the truth from Kate. As for Queen Charlotte, she fears what Lady Whistledown will say about the seemingly disastrous wedding. Quite the opposite, Portia relishes in the scandal. Eloise continues with her mission to solve the mystery of Theo. When Anthony is unable to say he loves Edwina, it adds further evidence to her that he loves Kate. However, Edwina knows that if they don’t marry, the scandal is going to be huge.
After Anthony corners Kate in a closet, Kate believes her actions have ruined Edwina’s life, and she bids goodbye to the lord. Kate goes to see Edwina and finally reveals the truth. She admits that she has feelings for Anthony, but that her feelings don’t match her love for Edwina. Edwina tells Kate that if she does, in fact, go ahead with the wedding, it will have nothing to do with Kate. Lord and Portia continue with their schemes, however, Portia is clear that they will not involve the Bridgertons. Lord Jack says that he views Portia as a strong and capable woman. Is romance ahead for the pair?
The ending
Queen Charlotte says that it is unacceptable if the wedding doesn’t go ahead. When she asks Edwina if she will marry Anthony, King George interrupts. As he suffers from a probable mental illness, the palace’s staff take him away. Eloise decides to visit Theo once again, she only tells Penelope as they are friends, and she does not wish for secrets to tear them apart. Oh, the irony!
Edwina forces Anthony and Kate to meet up, and after watching them interact, Edwina declares that she has made her decision. She will not marry Anthony. “It is not what everyone deserves”. With a slight feeling of bitterness, Edwina claims that Kate has always pushed her dreams onto her. As Eloise interacts with Theo, Queen Charlotte is informed that the trap for Lady Whistledown has caused a result. Is Eloise in trouble?! It sure looks like she is. The sixth episode from the second season of Bridgerton ends with Kate wanting to suspend time and wait. Then, she and Anthony kiss, once again.
