If this is the last season (fingers crossed), it will make sense. It does feel like the writers are finding ways to wrap things up using spirits and sudden marriages. Anyway, let’s recap episode 11.
Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) season 3, episode 11 recap
Episode 11 opens with a drunk Seo Ban heading to Si-eun’s house. The family is accommodating to him, but he also brings a range of snacks. He never does things in halves, after all. The next day, Si-eun delivers food to her ex-husband Hae-ryun for the last time and tells him the children will be staying with her. Lovely power move for Si-eun. Hae-ryun deserves it.
Sa-hyeon and Hye-ryung are giving their marriage another go. Of course, Hye-ryung has been possessed by Song Won, and she’s cast some spell on Sa-hyeon. Sa-hyeon’s parents are delighted that they are giving their romance another go. Hye-ryung tells her friends Pi-young and Si-eun that she and Sa-hyeon are giving their marriage another go and that his child is adorable. Strangely enough, the two friends do not find it weird at all. No one finds it odd. This story has been shoed in rather hastily, and I wonder if the writers decided to script around it in a crazy manner.
Dong-ma tells his father he’s getting married to Pi-young. The father has many questions about her life, age, and family. He’s mad at the age Pi-young is and that she already has children. It ensues in an argument between them. Dong-ma stands his ground, but the father tells him to think of his mother. But then tragedy strikes in their family. Dong-ma and Seo Ban’s mother has passed away. The news spreads to Pi-young and Si-eun, and they are in shock. The soon-to-be-wives head out to support their partners.
Sa-hyeon and Hye-ryung remarry rather quickly, and Ga-bin sings at their ceremony. Song-won is filled with love, living her spirit through Hye-ryung’s body, and enjoying the walk down the aisle with the man she loves. The writers have dedicated themselves to this story, which feels rather silly.
Despite the grieving in the family, Pi-young meets Dong-ma’s father. There’s a somberness in the room. He seems more accepting of their marriage. Pi-young takes care of the father, offering him healthy food and ice cream as she recognizes he’s emotionally drained. Seo Ban and Si-eun visit too, and there’s a real family spirit among them. The father wonders how they’d feel moving in. Seo Ban does not answer, but Si-eun and Pi-young confirm they are happy with it.
The ending
As the episode ends, Sa-hyeon’s mother is seen walking with a child spirit. Let’s be frank. We are sick of this series using spirits to move around plot points. This was a good episode in parts, but the lazy writing is shocking.

So I guess the writer is planning on having the ghost of that chick live on in Hye Ryung’s body to get her happy ending that the lawyer. Also the actor playing that role looks like he’s to old for the part.
I could at least try to see it and understand it somewhat if she took over her body so that she could try and reconcile them to make up for helping break up the marriage but she’s in it and don’t seem to be going anywhere. I’ll bet that Hye Ryung will end up pregnant when its all said and done. I wonder who will finally realize what’s going on and try to put a stop to it. As much as I can’t stand Hye Ryung’s attitude being all full of herself like the world revolves around her she didn’t deserve this.
This ghost theme has gotten old and old fast. If she was gonna go there people would wouldn’t be rolling their eyes if she’d just had her ghost come in to say goodbye and sent her butt on her way and the doctor’s father’s ghost. They could’ve done so much with that but screwed it up. Now they’ve brought in a ghost of some kid…? for petes sake…. is that woman trying to torture us with this never ending crap.
I really don’t know how this series survives! However I do find it strangely addictive….. yes the ghost story line is silly, and I can’t take any of the actors seriously. If there is anything positive about this series it’s the fast pace and they don’t drag out the individual story lines. It’s “wham bam” they are in love, “wham bam” they are divorced, “wham bam” they are in another relationship and getting married. It’s like, “What is happening”!!
I love this serial but…the ghost storyline..I hope that this ghost leaves her body and they still manage to be in a good loving marriage! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN SOAPIES. AS FOR THE 2 LADIES AGREEING TO LIVE WITH THEIR FATHER IN LAW..WAY TOO HASTY. Talk to your fiances.. and your children too!
I can’t agree more with you on the spirit thingy.. But somehow the drama is much enjoyable.
I truly like season 3 a lot! The EVIL spirit is in Hye Ryung’s body should leave SOON! Anyone who possesses someone I call it an EVIL Spirit!
Park Joo Mi and Jeon Soo-Kyeong should ask their Fiances if it’s ok to live with their Father-n-law? It’s worth 5 stars!
Whereas the storyline in first two series were realistically believable,.the new series is bordering on a fantasy drama. This is not just the ghost scenes but the taking over of someone else’s body is too far-fetched. Have the scriptwriters changed as the storyline are not very attention grabbing. They have also replaced a lead character with an actor who is not
very convincing in the role. The original actor who played Yu sin had that charismatic personality and the ability to manipulate so easily, his interpretation was perfect. The replacement actor does not fit that role comfortably, sorry, he also lacks the physical appearance to ever visualise him been chosen as the original Yu sin. On the other hand, the actor replacing the character who has lost his love in childbirth has been a better choice, his emotional scenes are extremely heartbreaking unlike the rather cowardly portrayal of the original. I could see him winning over Hy rang again. This is just my personal opinion.
The ghost plot line is really old. I would’ve understood if she just temporarily took over Hye Ryungs body to settle relationships before she leaves, but to influence decisions on remarrying him is horrible. I feel like the writer should give her her own choice and finally make a life away from the family she married into. Not that the family is bad but if Song won wouldn’t have passed they would have not wanted to have such a joyous relationship with her then as they do now, only because their sons wife passed and they want what best for him but not for her. I think the best thing for Hye Ryung is to have her be single and to continue to be successful, especially since her love interests ended up going with her two friends. But overall she should not go back with they guy because he hurt her and did not care, he’s only getting back with her because he sees Song won as seen when he single to her and then shows her ghost.
I agree with you on the YS replacement. It’s nothing against the actor but he just wasn’t right for this particular role. The replacement isn’t tall enough or suave enough and just can’t pull it off like the original actor could. As for the original actor that played the lawyer….I don’t think that he was right for the role and was actually glad when he was replaced but the actor they replaced him with looks like he’s older than he should be and I frankly don’t like him either… again just wasn’t right for that role either. “just my opinion” The actress that’s the replacement for the doctor’s stepmother is to over the top in her acting and is just laughable in her role. I’d love to know who it was that did the casting for those three.
Overall besides all these ridiculous ghosts they are bringing in…. it’s good besides that.
i like soap operas for the entertainment, but agree that spirit storylines gotta go. They only confuse the issues and seem to leave you hanging. When the Cougar stepmom let her husband die because she was too old and she wanted a young man like YU SIN. This selfish old woman showed her desperation in her greedy need to have Yu Shin all to herself. Her actions when A Mi moved in was a sign that things were not healthy. I didn’t feel sorry for Professor Park after his fantasy blew up in his face. He was insulting to Si Eun like she needed his approval and permission was necessary. He forgot how he not only divorced his wife but his children as well. He cannot hold a candle to Mr Seo – I say she hit the jackpot and her love life will improve 10 fold. Love the way he cares for her. Now Park wants to place conditions on the future. I am glad that his daughter keeps him on his toes. I don’t trust Dong Ma but if he thinks he can walk over Pi Yung he is mistaken. All in all this episode has some weak spots and I hope that 12 will improve and move on. unfortunately, I too have become addicted.
Can we talk about the odd camera style by the director or cinematographer? No matter what the characters are consuming, food or drink, there is an extreme closeup of the food or drink. In the beginning I thought the director was having some importance to the food or drink, like is it poisoned or drugged. But as each episode transpired, it was just this weird camera closeup each and every time. Like also the abrupt edits. It may be the director’s style to cut so abruptly but it is awkward feeling all the same. And the sleepy style of speaking that Ban & his brother talk. I find my eyes closing as if I’m being put under hypnosis by the monitoned sound of their voices. I believe the director is choosing to have the actors give this robotic style of delivery. This is indeed a strange show, and as another commentator mention, oddly addictive.
Ghosting totally crazy. Both husbands have cheated in the other dirt but when the shoe’s on the other foot they want to take the kids. Just married no night of passion no nothing.
