This article discusses whether there will be a season 3 of Amazon’s Undone and its renewed or cancelled status.
Undone was a critical hit, and fans waited patiently for a second season. An ambitious and endlessly creative series on Amazon Prime, created by Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob-Waksberg, it explores profound family tragedies that shape generations. While the first season had us questioning what is real or imagined in Alma’s head, the show manages to take a turn examing all the resentment that tore the family apart. Undone manages to reinvent itself every couple of episodes, utilizing its stunning rotoscope animation and absorbing nonlinear presentation.
This all points to automatic renewal, but we all know that’s not how things work. Will there be a third season?
Will there be a season 3 of Undone – renewed or cancelled status
The second season of Undone ended so perfectly, I almost wish they would not pursue a third season. But obviously, the code storyline of Alma’s mental health has not been truly explored yet. Her traveling back to her original timeline does offer some juicy storyline for a possible third season to wrap the show up. However, the storyline for Bob Odenkirk’s Jacob appears to be over. Could he possibly return, and how would they incorporate his character since his character was not alive during the original timeline? Also, his life went full circle and ended in the new one.
Undone is a critically acclaimed hit. The show’s streaming platform has a history of giving 30-minute series a third season primarily because it allows for the completed storyline for repeated viewing and costs less to store the raw data for streaming services. It may also have Ms. Purdy working in their favor because she signed an exclusive deal working with Amazon.
Prediction: A toss-up. I’m leaning towards a shortened third season to wrap up the acclaimed series.
