Tehran season 2, episode 2 recap

Tamar reacts in devastation to the brutal murders of her aunt and uncle, just as Faraz follows Milad. Faraz tells Ali to “surprise him”. However, Milad is able to run off, and when Tamar appears, she and Milad flee. But not before Faraz sees both of them. As Tamar blames herself for the murders, she is unable to leave. She, however, tells Milad to go and claims that she will meet him in Canada. Unsurprisingly, he won’t leave. Whilst at home with his wife, Nahid, who grows more erratic by the second, Faraz gets a visit from General Qasem.

General Qasem says that it doesn’t sit right that after two months of searching for Tamar, Faraz finally saw her, even if it was just very briefly. Meanwhile, Marjan meets up with Tamar. Marjan had hoped never to see her again. And she adds that she has also lost people whom she cared for. But her interest is piqued when Tamar reveals that she didn’t get on the truck as she knows how to get to General Qasem. Tamar claims that she will befriend his son, Vahid, and work her way to General Qasem through him.

After hearing what Tamar has had to say, Marjan says she will pass the info. And she passes it on very quickly as once Tamar has left the car, it is shown that Yulia was listening through an earpiece. The following morning, after hearing a noise, Tamar finds Marjan making her and Milad breakfast. Milad attempts to befriend Vahid, and despite being blown off initially, she manages to convince Vahid to come around the next day for drugs.

Nahid continues to act in a state of paranoia; I mean, who can blame her after the last season. The conversation stresses Faraz out, and as a result, he threatens a witness, who he thinks has info on Tamar, at gunpoint. Talking briefly about his own mental health struggles, Ali suggests to Faraz that Nahid goes to a mental health clinic.

The ending

Just before Vahid is due to arrive, Babek accuses Milad of trying to “cut her out”. After he nearly kills Milad, Tamar aims her gun at him. When Babek fights back, so do Tamar and Milad. Ultimately, Babek ends up tied up in the bedroom. Whilst Tamar calls Marjan for help, who refuses, Vahid arrives to pick up the drugs. Somewhat stuck, Tamar distracts Vahid as Milad tends to Babek. Babek, though, has slightly untied himself. When he tries to kill Milad, Milad kills Babek. As he leaves the bedroom, he hands the drugs over to Vahid in a slight state of shock.

When Marjan decides to help get rid of the body, she tells Tamar that every decision she makes will affect hundreds of operations. Later, Marjan calls Yulia. She believes that Tamar is more driven than anyone else she has seen. But Yulia has two problems. Firstly, Faraz. And they must stop him cold. Secondly, Milad. According to Yulia, he puts them all at risk as long as he is there.
