Netflix has a whole breadth of anime content in its library, and it shows no sign of slowing down. On May 16, 2022, Netflix released Vampire in the Garden season 1. Fans have been wondering if they will be getting a Season 2, however, after almost two years, there are still no updates.

Will there be a Vampire in the Garden season 2?

Wit Studios are known for creating wonderful anime series, however, Netflix has not confirmed whether there will be a season 2 of Vampire in the Garden yet. It’s not unusual for anime series to wait for renewal, as sometimes the next season can be released a year or two later. However, now that we are in 2024, and the studio behind the anime have been silent since it’s 2022 release, we have to assume that this anime will never return and that it has been canceled.

The premise of Vampire in the Garden

This is not your typical vampire story. It relies on the commonality between two different kinds of species; a human and a monster.

The character Momo is part of a closed human society that vampires haven’t been able to destroy. Her mother is a war commander, and life is merely about the survival of the human race. Their society is not presented in a saleable way — it’s wildly depressing. On the other hand, the Vampire Queen, Fine, does not desire to bombard human territory, nor does she want to rely on human blood. However, her people desire to destroy every human being possible due to their relentless thirst for blood.

The real story begins when Momo and Fine find each other and have an immediate connection over music while sustaining the horrors of war. The main logline of the series is — can humans and vampires find a paradise whereby they can co-exist?

We gave season 1 a favorable review:

The honest storytelling and the creation of a grim post dystopian society are why Vampire in the Garden is a must-see anime series.”
