Who Killed Sara? season 3, episode 1 recap
Episode 1 opens with Sara’s grave getting lifted by a crane with the authorities; Alex and Rodolfo look on. When the coffin is opened, it’s empty, but Alex already suspected that would be the case. Sara is now presumed dead, but not officially dead. Alex states he believes his sister is alive.
Late in the night, Alex is called by the strange hospital, stating that Marifer is awake from her coma. He visits her with Elisa. Marifer has sufferied extreme burns. Marifer writes Nicandro and Dr Alanis on Alex’s phone. But before he can get any more information, security arrives.
In a flashback, it turns out Nicandro’s father took charge of Sara’s medical situation when she was taken to the hospital after she fell from the parachute. In the present, the father rings Nicandro and he’s worried because Alex visited Dr Alanis’s office.
In the middle of the night, Alex confronts Nicandro about his connection with Dr Alanis, Sara’s physciatrist. Nicandro calls Sara crazy so Alex reacts violently and states he believes Nicandro planned to kill his sister before fleeing his house.
Rodolfo asks Alex to help him get his brother Chema out of prison; the family finances and assets are frozen. He also tells Alex that his father Cesar killed Abel Martinez; he thinks they can make Cesar confess, which will help get Chema out of prison. After this conversation, Rodolfo is confronted by men who are owed money by his father — they give him forty eight hours to provide the cash. Due to this encounter, Rodolfo knows where his father is, and he tells Alex — Seychelles Islands; it’s a tax haven. Alex researches wire transfers to the Seychelles Central Bank, which confirms their suspicions.
Cesar is enjoying life on the Seychelles Islands. Suddenly, he’s angered because his bank account has been emptied. Flashbacks show Cesar having a drink with Nicandro’s father. They talk about a new pill that will be profitable as part of a pharmaceutical strategy.
The ending
Alex and Elisa sneak into the strange hospital, and Marifer isn’t there. Alex is spooked by the place, as there are no patients or doctors. They both scour through files in an office. Alex sees a note stating Sara was the “first patient on the project.”
Alex confronts Dr. Alanis and asks for the truth, but when he enters the office, the doctor is dead — he’s been shot in the head.
