Tehran season 2, episode 6 recap

Tamar and Peyman have a non-alcoholic drink as Faraz watches. Marjan continues to threaten Nahid as Tamar gets warned to leave the location. And it seems that Faraz gives in to Marjan’s threats. When Tamar steps outside, Faraz is waiting for her; they are finally face to face once again. But to Tamar’s confusion, Faraz allows her to leave. Once inside the car, Tamar learns that is how “they’re taking care of it”.

Before he can leave the tennis court, Faraz gets seen by Hossein and Ali. To cover his tracks, Faraz claims that Ali told him to be there. Although Ali stays quiet, he knows that Faraz is lying. It then becomes clear that The General won’t be attending the tennis match. And so, once again, The General survives. He has “nine lives”, apparently.

Yulia watches Faraz on CCTV as he goes through the tennis rackets, and she sees as he touches the racket with the poison. With the mission no longer in progress, Tamar decides to make plans with Peyman. Returning home and after an awkward dinner, Faraz finally gets to speak to Marjan. He pulls a gun on her, but Marjan informs him that she has evidence that could “out” him as a traitor. Instead, Marjan would rather they work together. Faraz, however, would rather die.

As Ali suspects that Tamar was with Peyman, he also starts to grow suspicious of Faraz. With Marjan’s cover potentially blown, she tells Yulia they need to evacuate. But Yulia tells her that Faraz touched the poison and will die shortly. Tamar overhears The General tell Peyman to pick up “Betty”. And later that night, Tamar learns that Marjan “burnt herself” to save Tamar from Faraz.

The ending

But never one to back down, Tamar wants to carry on with the mission even though it may result in her own death. As Faraz grows more sick, he tells Nahid that he believes that the Mossad has poisoned him and that Marjan is an agent. As his condition worsens, Marjan appears with the antidote. But Marjan wants something first, active cooperation. Nahid agrees. And so, Marjan saves Faraz’s life by giving him the antidote.

Milad learns that “Betty” is, in fact, a car and one that can get hacked. So Milad suggests that they force the car to crash in the hope of killing The General. As Faraz slowly recovers, Ali visits Faraz. He believes that Faraz is working with the Mossad. And because of that belief, Ali tells Faraz to hand himself in and save what part of his dignity he has left. Fara agrees, and they drive to the headquarters. As they stop shortly before arrival, Faraz reveals that after being poisoned, he “saw it all”. So, Faraz asks Ali to help him die and spare him the suffering. Faraz then fights Ali over the gun. And in the end, Faraz accidentally shoots Ali.

What another great episode from Tehran. Also, the moment the car stooped, it was clear that Ali would die. I, however, actually thought that Marjan was going to appear and shoot Ali.
