The Boys season 3, episode 7 recap

VNN reports on Starlight’s claims, and Ashley gets interviewed and attempts to discredit Starlight’s claim by claiming that she is linked to a Human Trafficking Ring. Homelander visits Queen Maeve, who is alive but held captive, and he asks where Billy and Soldier Boy are. But Queen Maeve is more concerned that Homelander is wearing concealer, aka covering up a bruise. Queen Maeve asks why Homelander is allowing her to live. Homelander reveals he will be harvesting her eggs, and therefore, he is not letting her live but merely keeping her alive. Even with that shocking news, Queen Maeve declares this is one of the top three days of her life as it’s the day she actually saw Homelander scared.

As Soldier Boy leads Billy and Hughie down the woods, he warns them not to make eye contact with Mindstorm. But when they’re attacked, Billy makes eye contact and gets stuck in an endless nightmare. Hughie begs Soldier Boy to help Billy, but instead, Soldier Boy remains more focused on killing Mindstorm. After Frenchie and The Female goes to Marvin for help, Starlight tends to The Female’s wounds whilst Marvin remarks what a f**king mess they are all in.

The Female asks Starlight to help get her permanent Compound V. The Deep waits for Cassandra. He suggests they bring someone else into the relationship, and when she asks if he has anyone else in mind, The Deep brings out the octopus. But it’s too much for Cassandra, and she dumps him. Soldier Boy and Hughie come across a Nun and a Priest, but Soldier Boy believes that they are working under Homelander’s mind control, and he shoots the Priest in the head. Hughie tries to talk Soldier Boy down from harming the nun, but when the nun attacks Hughie, Soldier Boy shoots her too.

When Homelander struggles with Starlight’s betrayal, he milks a cow. Neuman tells him that he needs someone he trusts, aka her. But she wants him to do one thing first. Ashley waits for A-Train to wake up, and when he wakes up, she tells him how Soldier Boy “murdered” Blue Hawk. But she tells A-Train that he now has Blue Hawk’s heart.

Homelander and Starlight “bump” into each other. He tells Starlight that she will retract everything that she has said. But she isn’t scared of him anymore. And when Homelander threatens to kill Hughie, Starlight reveals she has been recording the whole thing to her Instagram account. Hughie finds Mindstorm, and he tells him that he isn’t like Soldier Boy and begs him to wake up Billy. Billy’s nightmare starts to reach its climax just as Mindstorm finally wakes him up.

The ending

But the happy moment is quickly over when Soldier Boy appears, throws a knife at Mindstorm’s eye, and punches Hughie. When Soldier Boy hears something off-screen from Mindstorm, he beats Mindstorm to death. Starlight learns that Compound V turns people’s brains into mush and that 3-5 doses could kill a person. She warns Billy and tells him to tell Hughie. But Hughie doesn’t; in fact, he tells Hughie that they need some more. When Billy ignores Starlight’s calls, she decides that she will save Hughie, even if he doesn’t want her to save him.

Shortly afterwards, The Female regains her powers. Homelander receives a call from Soldier Boy; he informs him that after he beat his meat into a cup, Vogelbaum made a kid from it that was born in Spring 1981. Soldier Boy is Homelander’s father.
