Maggie season 1, episode 2 recap
Maggie tells a client her bird is dead, but that is better news than watching Ben and Jessie kissing at the picnic table while having breakfast. So, she rents a storefront for her business. Ben’s sister, Amy, is worried that Ben may not love Jessie. Her husband, Dave, tells her that, of course, he does. Why? Because Jessie is like ketchup. And we know everyone loves ketchup. Maggie then goes on a blind date set up by her mother with a man named John who might as well be faceless because you cannot look past his abs.
Maggie’s mom thinks he has potential because he is the son of her meat man. And since Maggie’s parents do not own a deli weight scale business, it is not exactly a match made in heaven for her. Even at the girl’s night, her friend Meg is speechless that she will not sleep with him. When Maggie goes to the girl’s night with Jessie, Meg, and Amy, they all become fast friends. That is until Jessie begs Maggie to tell her what she saw in Ben’s vision. Right before she could either tell her no or what she saw (which would be doubtful), the doorbell rings, and John walks in. Meg grabbed Maggie’s phone and asked him to come over and make sure to be wearing bicycle shorts.
When Maggie sneaks out, she runs into Ben, and he drops his keys. She hands them back to him, and their hands touch. That is when Maggie has another vision. She sees Ben talking to Dave, and he says he will ask her tonight. This must be Ben and Jessie’s housewarming party. Does Maggie think this is Ben preparing to confess his love for her? Or is it more likely he will pop the question to Jessie? The latter is because Maggie decides to move on and accept a dinner invitation from a man who has hyperhidrosis. His name is Daniel, and he works out at a CrossFit gym in the same complex.
The ending
However, at the party, Dan asks Amy to Marry her. (So, they are not married even though she always refers to him as her husband). She says yes, everyone claps, and Maggie looks relieved. Later, Ben and Maggie talk about their past. He wants to know if he should tell Jessie about their time together because he loves her. Maggie ponders the question. Since she learned that sometimes the truth could hurt people more than lies, she suggests that he keep it in the past. She offers him her hand to shake, and she envisions Ben is talking to Daniel. He tells him she must like him if she keeps him around because Maggie can see the future.
