Summary

The episode started with promise, but the rest felt like an un-needed filler that didn’t add anything to the story.

In last week’s episode of Players, the pieces of Fugitive Gaming were finally coming together. We saw the massive rise of Nightfall. We saw the foundation of his relationship with Creamcheese. However, more importantly, Organizm finally listened to Creamcheese and the team got a HUGE win. I am excited to see what happens this week. Let’s dive in.

Players season 1, episode 7 recap

We found out that Blue Capital purchased Fugitive. They came in with a more significant offer for the team, and Julie could not match it. So Creamcheese is upset because of what could have been. So he takes a shot of the hot sauce Julie sent him. The hot sauce brought him to his knees, and everyone is making fun of him. Creamcheese believes that they bought the team to make Organizm the face of the team. Everyone thinks they might be fired including Kyle and Creamcheese. Kyle says if they win it all, they will have a hard time firing them.

After a solid finish to the season, Fugitive is the 4th seed in the LCS Playoffs. The playoffs are a best of five series, and everyone is questioning how they would handle the pressure of the playoffs together. All eyes were on Organizm because they were about to take on the man he replaced in Frugger. Creamcheese, before the game started, tweeted out, “Gonna wrap this up in 3, wanna get to my high school reunion before 9.” That is incredible.

Creamcheese backed it up, and the entire team was playing as a team. They kicked ass, took names from working together, and showed their full potential. Frugger couldn’t believe how great they played together as a team and how good Organizm is. The new group had brought in Puma to meet with Organizm and Organizm only, and Creamcheese was extremely upset about it.

I knew at some point that Organizm’s brother would step into the battlefield and start to cause a riff. Instead, we see that he is hyping Organizm up, which is excellent, but what it’s doing to the team isn’t helpful and could hurt in the long run.

Creamcheese arrives at his 10-year High School reunion. Unfortunately, as he shows up, the crowd isn’t packed, and the party seems dead. The party is awkward, and we heard Creamcheese talk up his high school experiences, and when he goes around, nobody really recognizes him or is even excited to see him. A classmate named Dale shows up, and he lost a bunch of weight and stole the thunder away from Creamcheese, which we all know he didn’t like.

We take the story back to 2011, where we meet Morgan, Creamcheese’s first real love. We get a backstory of their relationship, how it started, and what happened. He took her to see Fast Five TWICE — TWICE. She should’ve married him on the spot, period. When Creamcheese decided to chase the gaming dream, Morgan wasn’t exactly enamored by its idea, and he gave us the cliche line of “if you let someone go, they will come back.” Well, apparently, she did.

The ending

Next, we fast forward to 2016, the year of Creamcheese, as he was unstoppable in the gaming world. Morgan came back into the picture as he was, and Creamcheese was all for it. He was the happiest he had ever been, again. It was nice to see a soft side of Creamcheese that we hadn’t seen before. She told him she was proud of him and that he was right that he would get to where he was in the gaming world.

Creamcheese’s confidence was at an all-time high, winning left and right. Everyone knew it had to do with Morgan giving him the boost he needed. Back to the present day, Creamcheese calls to see if Frugger would pull up, but he says he was too far away. The party is a bit of a lull, but Creamcheese starts to drink more and more and gets louder and louder. Everyone is still going crazy over Dale’s weight loss journey until Creamcheese receives the call he wanted from Morgan. She wasn’t coming, which upsets him because that was why he was going.

Creamcheese jumps in the car to start driving but gets a ride home. Creamcheese walks in the door when he gets home and sees Organizm, and he lets him know that it wasn’t exactly great. But, they decide to play together, and Creamcheese gives the candy he had for Morgan to Organizm.
