Blood & Treasure season 2, episode 2 recap

The second episode starts in Hong Kong, where Lexi says that Dan isn’t thinking straight due to Kate’s kidnapping. And to help find Kate, they ask Aiden Shaw for his help. After they make themselves at home, Lexi quizzes Dan about Kate. Dan reveals that he only proposed because it felt like it was the right thing to do.

Lexi, Dan, and Aiden go to Ha Long Bay, and when Lexi prepares for a public fight, Lexi learns that her fight partner will be her ex-partner, Violet, who ended up in prison for ten years. But there’s bad blood between the pair, as Violet feels betrayed by Lexi for running and not allowing herself to be arrested so they could be together. Dan attempts to prove his worth to the great Khan by playing a game of King Goal. And during the game, he notices scarred symbols on the hands of each person playing. Once Violet beats Lexi in the fight, she reveals that she has forgiven her for abandoning her. And had tried to get in touch, but it was hard as Lexi had no address. As they chat, Violet questions whether Lexi is able to make a relationship with Dan work.

In Rome, Father Alonso tells Father Chuck that there must have been a traitor. When Father Chuck tries to ask more, Father Alonso says it is no longer his concern before “suggesting” that Father Chuck takes time to rest. Meanwhile, to the shock of his fellow players, Dan wins the game. However, it doesn’t provide him access to the Great Khan. Rather, men attack Dan but try to sail away. As the net closes in, the man shoots at Dan before holding Lexi at gunpoint. Violet, however, throws a knife at the man, causing him to fall into a river before disappearing.

The ending

Afterward, Dan notices a man sail by and take photos of him, Lexi, Aiden, and Violet. But who exactly and why remains a mystery for now. Lexi, who feels she owes Violet big time, tells Dan they should help. But Dan tells her not to feel so guilty about the past. Finally, Dan reassures Lexi that he will not be going anywhere. Aiden’s little friend reveals that after he left school early, he saw a woman with yellow hair and a freckle like Madonna in the courtyard going into an apartment. Bingo! So now Dan and Lexi know that Kate is corrupt and must have planted the bug and faked her own kidnapping. The man from the Jade Viper is told he is a failure. As a result, he gets fed to a gang of crocodiles.
