Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin season 1, episode 5 recap
On Halloween in 1999, Angela’s “friends” (the Liar’s Mothers) force her into throwing dog poo onto someone’s door. But they throw Angela under the bus by driving off without her, which presumably means Angela gets caught. In the present timeline, the Liars speculate on what their Mothers did and whether they should or shouldn’t disobey A. Henry tells Faran that Kelly does have a scar on her foot; so does this mean that Kelly is Karen? Faran takes her concerns to Madame Giry, but Madame Giry tells her that Kelly has a history of self-harming before strongly advising Faran that she drops her claims.
Tabbu goes to Wes for her final paycheck, and he accuses her of ghosting him. But Tabby calls him out for trying to kiss her. So, Wes apologizes and offers Tabby her job back. Mouse tells her Moms that she will be out at Halloween as she’s going to a party. When Faran speaks with Kelly, she notices that she has a scar on her hand; so Faran asks Kelly if she’s harming herself.
When it comes to the party, Tyler tries it on with Faran. Elsewhere, A also attends the party, and they put on the pumpkin mask that Angela wore in 1999. Imogen stumbles across A but seems too frightened to say anything. A watches as Faran and Henry make out. After Noa goes trick or tricking with Steve, who likes it when she calls him “Dad”, she asks him to take him to the party. But Noa, or Rachel as Steve calls her, is unaware as a figure walks past. Back at the party, Kelly and Greg make out; does that mean she’s Karen?
Chip tells Tabby that he has got an extension on their film so she can reshoot the film; Tabby agrees, although she adds that they’ll need a new Norman Bates, aka no Greg. Finally, Faran accuses Kelly of being Karen. Instead, Kelly gets annoyed that people can’t believe that Kelly could be something great. Faran warns Kelly that her life could be in danger; however, A listens close by. The night’s party comes to an end when Tabby stops Tyler from forcing a drink on Mouse. Tensions run high, and in the end, Tabby punches Tyler in the nose.
The ending
With his nose broken, Tyler goes to the toilet. But A attacks and kills Tyler. And with everyone else unaware, A takes Tyler’s body and dumps him into the back of a truck. Imogen receives a call from an unknown male; he reveals that he knew Imogen’s Mom, Angela, and Angela’s family. So they decide to meet. When Mouse returns home, her Mom asks if she enjoyed the party. Mouse explains that she needed one night to herself; she admits that what happened in the past was scary, but he is gone, and he’s never coming back. Who is he?
Madame Giry calls Faran; she tells her that Kelly called and told her what happened. As a result, Faran will no longer play the lead in Black Swan. At home, Kelly tells her Mom that she will be playing the lead; but even her Mom mistakes her for Karen. Imogen asks Tabby what the whole thing with Tyler was really about; Tabby reveals that in the summer, something happened to her. Imogen tells her that something happened to her too.
