Summary
Quite a slow episode that fails to excite the viewers properly. However, Tyler’s blackmail storyline in the episode is a highlight. While the character may not be the most likable in the fourth episode, it sheds light on how far people are willing to go to succeed in the workplace.
In the previous episode, Ingrid found herself homeless after her sister destroyed her flat. The ever-so-lovely Nick asked Ingrid to move in with him. But will that decision result in them breaking up in Partner Track Season 1 Episode 4? I predict that Ingrid will stumble across something that leads to her finding out that Nick is cheating on her. But am I correct?
Partner Track Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
After moving in with Nick, Ingrid and Nick play Just Dance. At work, with nearly everyone having to be doing due diligence, they’re all very stressful. But none more so than Marty, who seems to be getting aggro over the possibility that he will not be getting a Peacock. When Marty forces them onto his private plane to work, they learn it’s his brother with all the wealth. With Rachel’s workload piling up, she hands over some of her work to Hunter.
Whilst on the private plane, it becomes clear Marty has a difficult and likely estranged relationship with his wealthier brother. Tyler has a setback at work. When his boss provides him with intel that he could use for blackmail, Tyler decides that he wants to move forward “the right way.” Whilst still flying private, Jeff becomes emotional/upset when the plane comes into the disturbance. Afterward, he reveals that he doesn’t like feeling out of control. A feeling shared by Ingrid. Whilst getting snacks, Tyler calls Dan out for his white fragility. But rather than a huge argument, Dan apologizes and tells Tyler that he now knows what he has gotta do.
Partner Track Season 1 Episode 4 Ending
When Hunter suggests the “uncool department” to be in the skit, they all personally thank Rachel for allowing them to finally become stars. But as Hunter is pretty much hopeless, having not even written one word, Rachel decides that she will write the skit. With Tyler getting the company into a pickle, he gets taken off Luxe. To protect his role, Tyler blackmails Luxe into dropping the lawsuit. Ingrid calls Z and tells him that Ted has offered her a role of employment. Just as Ingrid and Jeff start to bond, it seems that he ruins it by trying and failing to kiss her.
Ooo, so despite my early predictions that Nick would cheat on Ingrid, maybe it’s going to be the other way around. And if that’s the case, it could change the direction I originally expected the show to go down. Whilst I have earlier stated how impressed I was with Arden Cho’s performance as Ingrid, others such as Bradley Gibson (Tyler) really start to shine in this episode.
