Summary

Far too predictable, cringy, and cheesy. With dialogue off-putting from the get-go, this is not Partner Track’s best episode.

As we reach Partner Track Season 1 Episode 9, it’s clear Ingrid and Nick weren’t meant to be. And although that was quite obviously going to happen, it’s a semi-shock that it was Ingrid who cheated. And it was slightly heartbreaking to watch as Nick walked in on her with Jeff. Whether that will alienate some viewers from her character remains another question. But with just two more episodes, it’d be silly not to watch how the story ends.

Partner Track Season 1 Episode 9 Recap

Despite being caught cheating, Ingrid still goes to see Nick. Naturally, she’s not met with the warmest of responses. When she meets Jeff, however, it’s a much better encounter. And it seems that they’re finally making a go of things. Plus, with no job or boyfriend, Tyler sleeps on Rachel’s couch. As for Rachel, it seems that she’s serious about making a go as a writer. Even though Ingrid seems happy for now, it seems that the writers are now hinting at a romance between her and K. When Justin accidentally sends an email to everyone in the office, rather than just Rachel, it means it becomes common knowledge that they’re sleeping together.

When Tyler attends a job interview, it goes well until he overhears some of its employees (Dan wannabes) talking trash about women. But as his former colleague says, maybe Tyler needs a major shake-up. Ingrid tells Lina to get her sh*t together. Harsh words are thrown about, with Ingrid accusing Lina of ruining a lot of things for her. With the partner announcement imminent, Margo and many others congratulate Ingrid before the announcement is even official (Of course, that only means one thing in the TV world).

Partner Track Season 1 Episode 9 Ending

During the event, Rachel overhears people gossiping about her. And it goes from bad to worse when she learns that the syndicate is rejecting her. But it’s not because Rachel is sleeping with Justin. No, it’s because she’s not keeping up with her billables. And now it’s the moment that we’ve all been waiting for arrives (apparently). With Rachel out of the running, Ingrid tries to comfort her. Even so, Rachel still wants nothing to do with her. And despite Ingrid being a beacon of hope, she fails to become partner. Instead, Dan, Jeff, and Hunter become partners. When it dawns on Ingrid that Marty was never going to make her partner, she quits. With Rachel continuing to take out her failing out on Justin, he decides to dump her.
