Summary
The romance genre remains strong in the sixth episode of Partner Track. However, the most exciting part of the episode comes from the aftermath of Dan’s racist stand-up performance.
The last episode proved just how much of an ar*e that Dan really was. Even so, will he face any consequences for what he said? Hopefully, but like reality, that might not prove to be the case in Partner Track Season 1 Episode 6.
Partner Track Season 1 Episode 6 Recap
Ingrid tells the audience that due to one kiss with Jeff, “her whole life feels off”. Meanwhile, Rachel is at breakfast, so she clearly survived the night of being stranded on the lake. Ingrid tells her friends that kissing Jeff has brought back the night she had with him after the wedding. Whilst with Nick, Ingrid finds a ring and instantly assumes that he plans to propose. But before she can even consider a future with Nick, she needs to address the kiss with Jeff.
Victoria St. Clair, apparently the company’s favorite client, arrives at the company to a round of applause. And just mere seconds before she arrives, Marty makes a public stand against racist comments; in other words, what Dan said during stand-up will not stand. Ingrid speaks with Victoria as they make plans for Victoria’s upcoming divorce battle. Meanwhile, Justin presents Rachel with a sex candle as a gift. And when he asks what he should say when he gets asked about Dan’s stand-up performance, Rachel drags him to HR, where she blurts out that they were having sex at the time.
The investigation into Dan’s stand-up begins, and it’s clear that a lot of people have strong opinions about it. But as Dan has covered himself and didn’t violate any codes of conduct, HR has no reason to fire him. They can put him on probation, which rules him out from being in the running for partner. But that’s bad for Marty. Dan is good to have, and he needs him on the team. So he has Ingrid attempt to talk Tyler down with the unofficial promise that she’ll make partner. And what will Tyler get? $500,000 in exchange for signing an NDA.
Partner Track Season 1 Episode 6 Ending
Rachel calls Ingrid out for her actions. And Tyler refuses to accept the offer. Instead, he publically quits and makes a video calling out the company. Regardless, Marty still seems to have faith in Ingrid and makes her chair of a future event. But will that gratitude be remembered when it comes to partner? Only time will tell. When Jeff asks Ingrid if she’s upset with him, it gets hinted that Ingrid may be jealous of how close he and Victoria were earlier in the night. At the bar, Tyler and Victoria not only drink for her birthday but to “burning it all down”.
When everyone is gone, it seems that Rachel will finish her birthday solo. However, shortly afterward, Justin joins her. And the show next cuts to them in bed together. When the sixth episode comes to a close, Nick proposes to Ingrid. But the episode cuts off before we get to hear her answer.
