Summary

Perhaps the least dramatic and interesting episode of Partner Track, which could suggest that the series could have benefitted from having fewer episodes. However, the cast remains excellent, even if their characters make you want to throw things at them.

With Ingrid becoming even closer to Jeff as we reach Partner Track Season 1 Episode 7, she seriously needs to decide what she wants to do with Nick. Will they have a future together? Or will she throw it all away for a chance with Jeff? Seeing how jealous she got of Jeff’s latest client, it may seem that her heart belongs to Jeff.

Partner Track Season 1 Episode 7 Recap

Ingrid and Nick are in bed together, and it soon becomes clear from their conversation that Ingrid has accepted her offer of marriage. But Ingrid has one condition. She does not wear the ring at work in case it affects her chance of being partner. However, sharing the news with Rachel and Tyler is going to be difficult. Neither of them is speaking to Ingrid as she “sold her soul.” Ingrid tries to tell Rachel that she’s engaged, but Rachel snaps at her for being self-involved and blurts out that she’s fu**king Justin.

Whilst working, Ingrid ruins a potential deal. But there’s a very good reason for that. Ingrid realized that they were being played. And just before Jeff could open his mouth, Ingrid luckily brought the meeting to an end.

During a charity event, Ingrid gets rewarded for her loyalty and commitment. Whilst she makes a public speech, and it seemingly goes swimmingly, some eyebrows get raised. And afterward, despite having everything she wants, Ingrid is not herself, and she breaks down to her Mom. Even though he’s unemployed, Tyler’s love life is on the rise, albeit behind his boyfriend’s back.

Partner Track Season 1 Episode 7 Ending

Elsewhere, Ingrid continues to feel guilty over her past behavior. And when Nick tries to comfort her, Ingrid blows her off and says that she needs to stay at her place for the night. At that very moment, Z finds her. He admits that her speech was “a little canned”. And just when it seems that the drama may be dipping in Partner Track, the police knock on Ingrid’s door and place her under arrest.

It’ll be interesting to find out in the next episode why Ingrid has been arrested. Whilst it will likely prove to be a mix-up somehow, it wouldn’t be a huge shock if Partner Track decides to make more drama by having the arrest negatively affect her chance of becoming partner, which I also feel won’t happen one way or another. Ingrid has clearly worked enough to score the role, but in the world of TV, that feels too easy. Instead, it’s more dramatic to see her not receive the promotion. For that reason alone, I’m going to predict it just won’t happen.
