Netflix series Heartbreak High (2022) premise

Heartbreak High is a fresh look at Hartley High over 20 years later. With her new friends, Amerie must repair her reputation while navigating love, sex, and heartbreak. The series is a take on the 1994 series of the same name.

Our opinion on the premise:

I never saw the original show, so I can’t base anything on that. However, a series premise set in High School drama? I feel like we’ve seen this done before, like a trillion times. So I can’t say I am massively impressed with the premise of the show.

Is there a trailer?

There sure is! Check it out:

The Heartbreak High trailer sets the tone for our lead, Amerie, which is sad because her best friend dumped her. While watching this trailer, you can’t help but see something that we’ve seen a hundred times before. I get trying to have these high school dramas, but if you are going to have these raunchy series, Sex Education is a MASSIVE step above the rest. I shared my thoughts on the premise, but after watching the trailer, I am even less interested in the show. Maybe it’ll be good, but I’m not sure I’ll be running to watch this one.

You can watch this series with a subscription to Netflix.
