Summary

It may have been a long time coming, but Thai Cave Rescue finally ended. Like much of the show, the final episode was too long and could have been covered in less time. On the positive side, the outcome was a great watch, and how great was it to see the actual Wild Boars come onto the screen in the closing moments?

It’s finally time for the last episode of the mini-series. Say what you want about the show, but it must have been absolute hell for anyone to have lived this experience in real life. But how does it all end in Thai Cave Rescue Season 1 Episode 6?

Thai Cave Rescue Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

The Thai Cave Rescue mission is underway. But the risk is high, so much so that some are starting to predict that lives will be lost. To increase safety during the mission, ketamine will be used to ensure the footballers can keep breathing. The team is told that no matter what, they must keep moving. And it’s better to leave one body than two. A shocking speech, but one that shows the dangerous nature of the mission.

The rescue mission starts, and the first child is sent into the water. It goes well, and he’s soon lifted to safety. And like that, five of the Wild Boars are freed from the cave. But there’s still a problem. They’re unable to find a mask that small enough for Mark. As the divers have been in the cave for 12 hours, it’s time to call it a night and allow them to rest. If not, the risk factor will increase.

During one of the missions, Night gets in trouble, and he falls unconscious. After a worrying few moments, he starts breathing. However, the rescue team cannot pause; they must push forward. When they’re finally out of the cave, he’s still breathing and gets rushed to the hospital. Now, eight of the young footballers have been successfully rescued from the cave. The rainwater starts to rise, meaning that the smaller chambers may flood completely.

Thai Cave Rescue Season 1 Episode 6 Ending

Everyone now faces a stark choice. The rescue team now has 90 minutes to rescue the team. Whilst the agreement was that Eak would go last, the rescue team say that he must leave now whilst they have the strength to carry his weight. Whilst he is very hesitant, the remaining footballers convince Eak to leave the cave. And sure enough, Eak is soon on safe land.

It’s a tight push to get the final boy, Mark, to safety, but it may just work. However, as they’re getting Mark out, there’s a landslide. People are told to flee, and Mark’s mother watches on in horror as she fears for Mark’s life. For a split second, it even seems that The Governor believes that Mark has died. That’s not the case, though. The rescue team brings Mark out, and he is soon breathing. The crowd erupts into cheer and applause when it’s announced that all 13 members of the Wild Boars are alive. The ending scene of Thai Cave Rescue is a very powerful one. It shows Eak and the 13 Wild Boars against their real-life counterparts. It starts with Eak, and follows with Mark, Tee, Titan, Adul, Biw, Phong, Mix, Dom, Tle, Note, Nick, and Night.
