Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler season 3, episode 6 recap
10 years earlier and in Morocco, Alfie leads a team to retrieve Sandra’s father. Back in the show’s main timeline, Alfie learns that Sandra is edging closer to the truth about her father. Thomas arrives at Wayne Manor and has an awkward reunion with his father. He asks his father to remember something good from his childhood. Rather than argue, as you may expect, they instead get emotional and hug each other. But Thomas tells his father, “love isn’t enough, is it” and he walks out of the manor.
After Sandra makes a public speech about the attempts on her life, Alfie confronts the Prime Minister over secretly holding Sandra’s father. But the PM denies such claims. When Alfie and Sandra end up in bed together again, she asks if he thinks he has made another mistake. He responds by telling her that he has made a lot of mistakes, but this isn’t one of them. Alfie tries to persuade her to allow him to go alone tonight, but she is adamant that she must also join. And appearing in the show much later than expected is Bet. She is being held hostage at the office of the chancellor.
Jon Salt wants to know how Bet found him, so she tells him that she works for MI5. He doesn’t believe him, so he slaps her. Then, he threatens to kill the baby, so she reveals that Frances Gaunt is the one who led her to him. Even so, Jon gets his men to blow up the baby’s pram. But, it’s all just a game for Jon as the pram was empty. However, it doesn’t mean that he has turned soft as he orders his men to kill Bet and burn the body.
When Alfie retrieves the gun hidden in his Mom’s fireplace, he learns that she’s with Roger, and it’s heavily hinted that they’ve been in bed together. When Alfie leaves, Roger agrees to be Mary’s boyfriend. Bet finds a nursery that holds all of Jon’s babies. With help from a nurse, she finds Julie. But as she talks to the baby, Jon stabs her in the back. As she crawls away in agony, he starts to beat her up. As he taunts her, she shoots him. And in a struggle, she tricks him into stabbing himself, finally “shutting him up”.

Finally, Sandra learns that her father is in a hidden prison within the country. But her source tells her that there is no way for her to break him out. So, Sandra decides that she will go to the press. But that won’t work; her source claims that the people responsible will simply take her father to another location. When Alfie interrupts the conversation, the source recognizes Alfie as one of the British soldiers who took her father.
Alfie confesses. But he tells Sandra that her father was simply a target and none of it was personal and that he is sorry. Alfie claims that the source is not a friend of her father, as he sold her father out. Sandra shoots the source dead and walks away from Alfie. Outside in the cold, Bet holds the baby and wonders what her next move should be. So, the next thing we see is Julia being left on a bus with a note to send to Peg. When the bus drives away, Bet collapses. Has she died?
Alfie finds Dave in only his boxers. But Alfie doesn’t have time to discuss it as he has their next mission. In Gotham, Thomas’s father walks down the streets and into an alleyway. Someone shoots him. Who killed him? None other than Thomas.
