Manifest season 4, episode 6 recap

The episode starts with both Ben and Mick giving the most ridiculously unbelievable explanation to the press and the police, respectively, on how they found Eden.

Back at Adrian’s compound, the police are now investigating the explosion. Yet they don’t have many leads on what may have caused it. All the 828-ers are sticking to the same story, and there’s little evidence connecting the Stone family to it. While Jared is conveniently tasked with handing the bullets from the gun Zeke used to kill Erika, he refuses to make those bullets disappear, to Vance’s frustration. While he knows those bullets came from his gun, Jared doesn’t want to break his moral code. Of course, as soon as he hands the bullets in, Police Captain Ted takes away his gun and badge.

At the house, Cal and Olive are enjoying a sweet moment with their baby sister, before he gets a worrying Calling revealing that the Callings alone are not enough to save the Lifeboat. Olive and Cal think there needs to be another way to communicate with the divine consciousness considering Eden is getting Callings without having been on the plane.

Michaela gets a Calling of an aquarium filled with blood and asks Ben for help, as he’s now back on the Lifeboat. The Calling leads Mick to a passenger named Sam who owns an aquarium, but upon arriving at this house, she finds him dead in his apartment. After finding the body, Michaela calls Jared, who recognizes the dead man as someone he tried to protect from a fellow officer two years prior. During the confrontation, Jared punched the officer who was harassing Sam, which is why he’s now in uniform.

Jared and Mick decide to try and solve the murder together with Drea’s help, which leads to them learning that the police captain has been extorting the dead man for money. Drea sneaks into Ted’s office and finds proof, but the dirty cop follows her to the roof where a confrontation ensues. The Captain offers Jared his job back and his detective shield if he just walks away, but Jared refuses. Eventually, they overpower him and he gets arrested. Luckily, Vance alters the ballistic report, so Jared gets his job back.

At home, Olive leaves TJ a voicemail telling him about the research she’s been doing. She finds multiple mythological texts detailing how every time humans have been in contact with the divine, they used sapphire. Meaning, there might still be a way to save the Lifeboat.

Ben is struggling to connect with his daughter, as Eden keeps calling him the “bad mam” while saying she wants her “mommy.” To make matters worse, Angelina, who’s now hiding at her mother’s, keeps calling the house asking to speak to the toddler. Eventually, Ben asks Anna Ross to spend some time with Eden, thinking that allowing the child around a familiar face would help her get settled at home.

Manifest season 4, episode 6 ending

As we reach the end of Manifest season 4, episode 6, Cal makes a terrible decision and allows Angelina to speak to Eden on the phone. He thinks this is the only way for Eden to accept Ben isn’t a bad person. When Ben finds out, he is beyond angry. The father and son exchange some harsh words, and Cal decides to run away.

In a phone conversation, Jared tells Michaela he thinks Ted was only guilty of extorting Sam, but not the murder. We then cut to Anna Ross’s home, where someone breaks in and stabs her to death. There’s still a killer on the loose. And they’re targeting 828-ers.

Zeke has been struggling with guilt for killing Erika throughout the whole episode. In the end, he falls off the wagon. As he’s walking around with a bottle of liquor, he stumbles upon Cal who collapsed on the road. It looks like Cal’s health is getting worse, cutting his attempt to run away short.
