Who is Emma Corrin?

Rising star Emma Corrin made their screen debut with a small role in the British mystery series GrantchesterBefore that, they’d starred in a couple of short films. However, their breakout role as Princess Diana Spencer in The Crown’s fourth season earned Corrin widespread critical praise and several accolades, including a Golden Globe award for Best Actress and a Primetime Emmy nomination. Born in Kent, the actor studied Drama and the Arts in Cambridge and this year became the first nonbinary celebrity to feature on the cover of Vogue magazine. This talented young person’s career is only just beginning, and we’re expecting to see a lot more of them on our screens going forward. Lady Chatterley’s Lover (2022)

Based on a book so controversial the publishing company was sued by the British government for allowing readers to consume such obscenities, Lady Chatterley’s Lover first premiered in the festival circuit to rave reviews before landing on Netflix last week. Emma Corrin plays the titular noblewoman, who, after falling out of love with her husband, starts an illicit love affair with the gamekeeper of her husband’s country estate. 


My Policeman (2022)

My Policeman stars Emma Corrin alongside Harry Styles, Gina McKee, Linus Roache, and David Dawson. The film follows a married couple across two different timelines and their relationship with Patrick, whose return after 40 years brings back past regrets. After premiering at this year’s TIFF, the feature is now available to stream on Prime Video


Ten Percent (2022 – )

This British comedy premiered in 2022 on Prime Video, and it’s the English-language remake of the popular French series Call My Agent! The show follows the misadventures of a group of people working at a talent agency. They have to handle their own struggles and the difficult celebrities their company represents. Starring Jack Davenport, Lydia Leonard, and Maggie Steed in main roles, the series features several actual British celebrities playing themselves, including Emma Corrin. 


The Crown (2016 – )

Since its first season premiered six years ago, The Crown has received worldwide recognition and accolades for its fictionalized portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II’s trial and tribulations from her youth in the 1940s to modern times. In the fourth season, Emma Corrin became the first to take on the role of Princess Diana on the show, and their portrayal received widespread critical acclaim. 


Misbehaviour (2020)

Based on a true story and directed by Philippa Lowthorpe, this movie centers on a group of female activists coming together to cause mayhem at a Miss World beauty pageant in London. Featuring an all-star cast including Keira Knightley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Greg Kinnear, and Jessie Buckley the film received several awards and nominations along with vastly positive reviews from critics. Emma Corrin appears in a small role as Jillian Jessup, Miss South Africa. This movie marks their first role in a feature film. 


Pennyworth (2019 – )

Created by Bruno Heller, HBO Max‘s Pennyworth centers on the early life of Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), who’s better known as Bruce Wayne’s (aka Batman) butler. This thrilling origin tale has just completed its third season, and fans are hopeful for a renewal. In the show’s first season, Emma Corrin was cast as Esme Winikus in a recurring role. 


Grantchester (2014 – )

Grantchester is a period crime drama starring Tom Brittney and Robson Green as a vicar-police officer duo solving the murders plaguing their small Cambridgeshire village. Set in the 50s, the series is based on a series of short stories by James Runcie. This murder-mysery series marks Emma Corrin’s television debut. They appeared in the guest role of Esther Carter in season 4, episode 4.
