Paramount+ only launched in 2021, yet the streamer has already released several noteworthy series, including The Good Fight, Evil, and the Criminal Minds revival. While the platform is relatively new in its current form, its association with the large ViacomCBS family means there’s no shortage of programming for subscribers to binge on. It also means we can expect many new titles to hit our screens as we move into 2023.

We’ve already compiled a list of the best all-time Paramout+ TV shows, so we’re shifting the focus to the current year’s offerings. Using Rotten Tomatoes scores as a starting point, we’ve put together the best 2023 series so far on Paramout+. 13. Fatal Attraction (2023 – )

2023’s Fatal Attraction promised a reimagining of the Glenn Close thriller through a modern lens. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite pan out that way. Neither fans of the original nor contemporary audiences had many words of praise for the series.

Official Premise: An affair threatens the lives of Dan Gallagher and his wife, Beth, in this reimagining of the 1987 movie, exploring marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control.

12. Mayor of Kingstown (2021 – )

This is one of those shows audiences seem to love, while the critics fail to be impressed. Nevertheless, 2023 saw the show return for a second season, and rumor has it this won’t be the last we see of the McLucky family.

Official Premise: A crime drama about an important contemporary issue, America’s prison system, “Mayor of Kingstown,” follows the McLusky family in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.

The family of power brokers between police, criminals, inmates, prison guards, and politicians tackles themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality. The crime thriller series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town without either.

11. Wolf Pack (2023 – )

There was a lot of publicity surrounding Wolf Pack, mainly because it marks Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to the supernatural genre. But judging by critic reviews and audience feedback, the show somewhat failed to live up to the hype.

Official Premise: A teenage boy and girl have their lives changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature.

10. Special Ops: Lioness (2023 – )

While this spy show by Taylor Sheridan failed to overly impress, it still makes for an entertaining watch.

Official Premise: Joe attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror; the Lioness Program enlists Cruz to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism.

9. Rabbit Hole (2023 – )

This new spy show starring 24’s Kiefer Sutherland has all the elements an entertaining action show should. According to Ready Steady Cut critic M.N. Miller, Rabbit Hole “is a suspenseful, highly entertaining thriller with a well-timed sense of comic relief.”

Official Premise: Nothing is what it seems when John Weir, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, is framed for murder by powerful forces with the ability to influence and control populations.

8. Transformers: EarthSpark (2022 – 2023)

Unfortunately, this animation from the Transformers universe failed to gather a loyal fanbase. The series only had a 26-episode run before Paramount+ canceled it.

Official Premise: Introducing a new generation of Transformers robots called Terrans, the first Transformers robots to be born on Earth; together with the humans who welcome them in and care for them, they’ll redefine what it means to be a family.

7. School Spirits (2023 – )

School Spirits is a supernatural teen drama with a twist and an added murder mystery. It’s no surprise that its first season already gathered quite the fanbase.

Official Premise: Maddie is a teen girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her own mysterious disappearance; she goes on a crime-solving journey as she adjusts to school in the afterlife, but the closer she gets to the truth, the more secrets and lies she discovers.

6. Rugrats (2021 – )

The Rugrats reboot has been relatively well received by critics, even if audiences tend to disagree. While some of the voice actors from the original didn’t return, the new series looks a lot better thanks to the introduction of 3D animation.

Official Premise: Big adventures born from the colorful imaginations of babies Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie, and Angelica.

5. iCarly (2021 – )

In an age of terrible revivals, iCarly stands out as an example on how to bring back nostalgia the right way.

4. Star Trek: Picard (2020 – )

This recent addition to the Star Trek franchise premiered in 2020, featuring Patric Steward reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard. The show won a Primetime Emmy, along with several other accolades. Sadly, the current season was confirmed to be its last.

Official Premise: Retired admiral Jean-Luc Picard, still profoundly affected by the loss of Lieutenant Commander Data and Romulus’s destruction, steps into the next chapter of his life.

3. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022 – )

This exciting entry to the Star Trek universe came back this year for its second season. The series has already received several accolades, including a Primetime Emmy nomination.

2. Joe Pickett (2022 – )

The second season of this exciting Western premiered this year and continues the titular character’s story.
