Dance 100 is a dance competition that dropped on Netflix on Friday, March 17, 2023. If you were one of the millions of people who discovered Peloton during the lockdown, you might be delighted to learn that the show is hosted by instructor Ally Love.
The premise involves eight-star choreographers battling it out for a big prize. The choreographers must choreograph an increasingly difficult dance routine for many talented dancers to perform.
The twist that forms part of the show is that the dancers are the real judges. It makes sense that the people who have to perform the choreography are in the best position to criticize the routines, so I expect there will be a few mangled egos to contend with on the way. This article will be filled with spoilers, so if you have yet to watch the show, I suggest you stop now, as this feature will explain who won Dance 100 Season 1.
What was the Dance 100 Season 1 Elimination order?
- This season’s contestants were Max, Akira, Celine, Janick, Rex, Brandy, Rudi, and Keenan.
- In round one, we lost Akira. In subsequent episodes, Janick, Rex, and Rudi are eliminated, leaving the semi-final with Max, Celine, Keenan, and Brandi.
- In the final, the eventual result would come down to Keenan and Brandi.
Who won Dance 100 Season 1?
Brandi Chun won the dance competition.
Brandi grew up in O’ahu, Hawaii, and turned thirty in September 2022. You can follow her on Instagram @brandichun. Runner-up Keenan Cooks grew up in Boston and lives in New York City.
How much does the winner win?
There was a grand cash prize of $100,000 for the show’s winner.
However, more importantly, for the choreographers, it would be the platform they were given to show off their extraordinary skills. In a contest such as this, it could be argued that every contestant was a winner, as they got to display their style, presentation, and choreography to a vast audience.
With such subjective material, it would be tough to proclaim one choreographer as better than another, but it needs a format for the show to work. Still, I imagine in the world of professional dance choreography, each contestant would be applauded for their incredible work on the show.
Where is Brandi Chun now?
Brandi is still involved in dance and choreography. She had moved to Los Angeles at eighteen years of age. Brandi can be found teaching her particular style of dance choreography at the Millennium Dance Complex. She also provides lessons through DancePlug’s website.
Her other work has included collaborating with Go 2 Talent Agency. As a professional dancer and choreographer, the reality TV star has worked in projects like Cirque Du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson ONE,” the “Move Beyond” tour with Julianne and Derek Hough, and the Disney Junior tour.
Brandi has participated in modeling too. She is in a happy relationship with Kanoenoe Esteves, also a dancer.
