Summary

Another hilarious episode of Ted Lasso also includes a couple of surprising revelations.

We recap the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 23, “4-5-1,” which contains spoilers.

Season 3, Episode 3 combines the amusing character of Zava (Maximilian Osinski) and numerous subplots.

The episode has two major plot points that will pique fans’ interest. One is Ted (Jason Sudeikis) discovering who Jake is and Crimm (James Lance) discovering something he wasn’t supposed to see—another spectacular outing for the entire cast.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 3 Recap

There is a significant plot development in Ted Lasso that involves Colin. The player, who kept muttering to himself how he was a strong man last season, is shown waking up and meeting his boyfriend in the kitchen.

Yes, the soccer player is gay and has a boyfriend we did not know about. He kisses him goodbye.

Colin leaves, ensuring his sunglasses are on as if he does not want to be seen, scurries to his car, and drives to practice. There, Ted and Roy decide to bench Colin for Zava.

Roy comments that Colin is a chameleon and can change depending on the situation. While the guys are talking about Zava, saying how he transcends sexual orientation, Colin makes a joke that he will make the sacrifice and have sex with Zava.

What does the psychic tell Rebecca?

The psychic tells Rebecca she sees a green matchbook and will have a family.

When she arrives, the medium begins to talk about how Rebecca lost a father figure (her actual father died at the end of season two) and broke up with a man half her age (which is Sam).

When Rebecca asks how she knows that, she very openly says she talks to her mother once a month. After a few minutes, the psychic begins to listen to dozens of voices and tells her what she saw.

Rebecca is very upset about this, finding it cruel, and yells at her before leaving. The woman, though, looks convinced of her vision.

Who is Ted’s ex-wife dating?

Ted’s ex-wife is dating their former couple’s therapist.

Right before Zava’s first game, where he hilariously enters the center of the entire team, putting their hands in, and having everyone instead place their palms all over his godlike body, Ted tries to call home.

He left his cell in his bathroom and called the landline. Yes, the Lassos have a landline. When he calls, his ex-wife doesn’t pick up. Nor does Henry answer the phone.

No, it is Jake who gave Ted’s son the toy.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 3 Ending Explained

What does Crimm see when he leaves the restaurant?

When Crimm leaves Sam’s restaurant for the evening, he sees Colin and Michael in a passionate embrace in a nearby alley.

This may be a problem for Colin since he is a member of the LGBTQ+ community but is still in the closet. Michael was there because Colin invited him under the beard, and Michael has been Colin’s wingman picking up women.

Will Crimm publish what he saw? This is a progressive show about mental health and growth in a country that finally recognized gay marriage in 2019. Only one modern footballer has come out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community until Jake Daniels in 2022, the first-ever active player to do this.

You have to think of current events that influenced this story. And with a team of players of different cultural backgrounds, it will be interesting to see where this storyline is headed in future episodes.
